More of a local heads up really, I popped into the DSG discount outlet today in Ancoats, Manchester and they have Sony BDP's for sale at £49.99 in excellent working condition minus the remote control.

Unfortunately I couldn't take a picture at the time because I'd left my iPhone at home on charge and I already have a PS3 anyway but assuming you can get a cheap remote elsewhere or even use a universal one then this has to be a good deal.

Seemed to have quite a few in stock as well.

One unit for sale in one store?? This place gets more ridiculous...

There's a Tesco coronation chicken sandwich spread in the knock down fridge in the Norwich store. Yellow labelled - Was 99p now 79p.

Thanks for that Andy, at least some people bother to read the description.

I think our friend in the South there might just be a teensy bit jealous. :)

Not jealous, just hoping that people can write using proper English perhaps!!! It reads as one, then as a footnote they become many!

Yep, noted, you were absolutely right, it was my fault.

Just to double confirm that they did have quite a few though. I've been a member of this site for a good few years now and I know better than to send people off on a wild goose chase. :)

Very good. Which BDP is it?

Not sure to be honest, like I said I left my phone at home and I didn't want to risk looking like a bit of a weirdo in the shop.

I'm sure any model is good for 50 quid though. It looked just like the one in the picture if that helps.

BDP-s350 maybe going by the photo.

Why are all the remote controls missing?

I would have assumed they are going to be the obsolete ex-display models that have been running for weeks with every Tom/Dick/Harry (and their kids) have been mauling (and the staff lost/mislaid the remotes)?
ie not only do you get the "experience" of shopping with DSG but you probably get the experience of a not just a second-hand but 1000's of hands unit ?

Or they might have been sitting on the shelf doing nothing but collecting dust.

I assume that a full guarantee is offered and possibly even a vat refund from Sony?

where abouts is the DSG discount store, I know where the Currys Clearance store is next to Toysrus but not the DSG store

Sorry yes it is the currys place. It sells stock from pc world and dixons as well though, hence dsg.
