Amazing price !

"On Sale" in Selfridges for £319, and the cheapest I could find in stock on the net yesterday was £241.75.

Very, vey hot !!

I was gonna post this the other day but after I ordered it the price on the site went up to £329 so I thought it might be a misprice. Mine is now showing as packing on my order status so I guess it's for real and if so it's a super hot deal!

I've not looked today but when I ordered there was a another one for £10 cheaper only it has a pink surround. Ideal for you daughters though! There was also one in Mocha at the same price as the silver one. Type in Sony 19" to find them.

Don't forget Quidco/Topcashback and the recent play £5 off a £50 spend vouchers work too as long as you add a cd/dvd to your basket.

I think if you are using adaptor hdmi to dvi it is possible

Am I right in assuming this doesn't need to be plugged into a roof aerial, then? We've only got one aerial point in our flat, and our bedroom TV which currently runs off a set-top aerial is going to stop working when we switchover this week, so this seems like it would be a good replacement...

Great find - will be ideal for the kitchen. Thank you.

Depending on how good a signal you have you might struggle with a portable aerial, but it will work. A weak signal will mean it might not find some channels while others might break up or stutter.

But I still need to plug a portable aerial of some kind into it? It's not all inbuilt?

For Freeview you need a strong signal. Not sure how well it would pick up with an indoor aerial.
#18
Thanks guys! Think I'll test the signal with an indoor aerial on our main (freeview) tv.

Surely most people don't have aerial points in their kitchens though, do they? And the Sony description is all about taking it from room to room, which is why I assumed it didn't have to be plugged into anything other than a power supply....

soft red for £169.99

Thanks, noted and edited to include soft red and also mocha which is available for £179.99.

I hope anyone that has bought one of these sets doesn't regret it, they don't seem to have any bad reviews.

It looks like a nice little set. But abit pricey for 19 inches, and if you want something to watch telly on in the kitchen then there are many cheaper options. Infact I think the best option would be to buy a cheap netbook and then use the superb TVcatchup online service. And then you have an extremely versatile device with no aerials, no worrying about signal, you can play music, video, browse while cooking, email, skype and then you have the bonus of iplayer so if you miss eastenders you can watch it making the tea. And you can carry it about with you wherever you want. Its a no brainer IMO.

It might not be to your needs but this set is to others who want a set that has a very good picture. What 19 inch netbook to you know of? I've posted a deal for anyone that is looking for this set not a solution to the issues you've mentioned, perhaps you should try a different forum!

The price for this set is very good in comparison to the original cost and competitors prices. That's what this site is about...

went to j. lewis this afternoon to see the set...

tbh too much plastic. looks cheap and nasty
#25
What's play.com's stance on dead pixels? Or if it's a turkey (rubbish) when you get it? There isn't a single professional review on this telly but the specs and the bravia 2 engine look really good for the price.

Hello ... I was just about to go for connections .... this has 2 scarts and 2 hdmi. Great for me as I'm still an old fogey with scart DVD player. I aim to use this in kitchen via a scart transmitter from my main TV. At £100 less than anywhere else, this seems a great deal for me . Its a Sony, and a Bravia.
#27
Thabiz - as an aside to the sony tv - I'm interested in tvcatchup but it says I cant open the file extension m3u8 - do you know anything about fixing this on windows 7? thanks

Mine has been dispatched so definitely not a misprice! If the deal is still on when it arrives I'll post my initial thoughts.

TV arrived today, no probs.

Play.com also took the liberty of including 11 copies of the same marketing leaflet for my viewing pleasure.

How kind of them.:prop:
