Excellent 2D performance. If you want good 3D performance, look elsewhere. Overall... Hot deal.
If you really want it for 3D though, I wouldn't bother.

from what I can tell this is LED LCD vs IPS Alpha (+ for panny)
thing that would swing me towards sony is recording to usb hdd from FreeviewHD... I wonder if it could work in the background...
I posted the Panasonic deal, however, I do think this Sony is worth the extra £49
For these reasons I am ordering...
Max
Can't get the half price del with Blu-Ray player and 3D glasses kit to work, anyone else had success with this?? It should definitely be valid as it is something called the Sony Perfect Partners Promotion, they run it every year, the idea is to tempt people into buying the right stuff to go with there TV by reducing it...
marks&spencer have the 3D movie bundle here:
http://www.marksandspencer.com/Sony-3D-Movie-Bundle-Kit/dp/B002LHIFYS?extid=TP_2_FRO_T_MSF_
Not sure if you can get it half price like i did though, but its worth a look into it. If you dont want to buy the bundle and want to stay with Sony, then try and get TDG-BR250/B Active 3D Glasses instead of theb TDG-BR100B Active 3D Glasses as they are the newer updated model which dont need batteries (you just charge them with the USB cable they supply).
The picture quality in SD and HD sky channels are absolutely fantastic.
The picture quality on PS3 games / Blu rays is also fantastic.
The 3D picture is ok, but there are alot of other T.V's that do it better. This set suffers with Crosstalk (or image ghosting) alot of 3D T.V's do but i only really use the 3D for the PS3 which seems to cope well i usually just turn the 3D settings down slightly which improves the Crosstalk.
The sound also seemed good but i only tested the speakers quickly to make sure they worked before hooking it up to my HT-IS100 Home theatre system.
If you want to use the "Smart T.V" Functions (internet, apps, updates etc) you will need a Sony UWABR100 USB Network Adapter, they have them here on amazon:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0036XX4G0
Or if you are like me and are lucky enough to have your router right next to the T.V you can just connect it by an ethernet cable.
The T.V definetly has freeview HD built in and there is also a record option if you hook up a HDD or a large capacity USB stick. (i haven't tried this though as i just use Sky HD+)
Hope this helps a few people, and if you have any questions about this model i'll try and answer them for you if i can.
