HD ready 720P

Is this the same TV as the JL one the other day?
#6
same as the JL one and the M&S one for 350 with 5 year warranty....i am tempted by this telly as it seems to be on offer everywhere!
#8
I notice JL are now pricing this at £329, although they are showing none in stock. I hummed and argh the other day I guess sooner or later I should take the plunge.

Can you reserve and pick up in store at Dixons?
#9
No free 5 year warranty? Gotta be cold in comparison with the competition then
#10
The 1080p version is the kdl32w4000 and the cheapest i can find this with available stock is £582.95 from electrosaver. I am watching the w4000 daily and it is slowly dropping in price...
#11
A resolution of 720 is all you need on tv's of this size .

A 1080 would be preferred if you're going to sit closer than 1.5 times the screen size (diagonal measurement) or if you want to go really big and get a 55" tv, or you're going to use it as a computer monitor.

The RicherSounds in Chester was out of stock yesterday, so not sure how many are still available, if any.

I currently have a cheap 32" LCD HD ready 1080i ... "Mirai" TV .... comes with 3 years warranty but nothing really special about it.... It plays my 360 games ok.... I've used HD-DVD with my 360 and the pictures looks really crisp (watch Planet Earth).... It cost me around £300 with 3 years warranty last year.... Is it worth replacing it with this Sony 32" 720p TV?

Would I notice a better picture or worse or not much differance.... obviously in terms of looks the Sony would win.... Mirai is pretty ugly to be honest and one of the main reasons i want to upgrade/change.

If PIP is picture in picture, then yes it does.

Just in case the pic is the w4000 not v4000.
#22
Is the warranty only 1 year though? If so, that's a shame since JH and M&S were doing it with 5 year warranties for a tad more
#23
Richer Sounds (£299) / M & S are better deals than this one. This price can be found elsewhere with only 1 year warranty. JL did the same machine two months ago for £329 with 5 year warranty. Great TV, though.

I purchased this TV when the Play sale started just before Xmas. It arrived today and the picture quality through both Freeview and Virgin V+ box was very poor, grainy, shadows and the marquees on the news channels, etc... blurred, and the picture from the HD channels was on a par with the average SD channel. Everything is fine through my current 4 year old Samsung 32" LCD TV so assume that it can only be the TV and, believe it or not, the screen size is an inch smaller than my Samsung at 31".

It may well be that I got a bad one but I would be careful in buying this model. I was very pleased that when I rang the Play.com customer services they said that if I was unhappy then to send it back and they'll give me a full refund.

I think your TV is a poor version - glad you were refunded. This particular Sony is just brilliant - and for the current price it's even better. Screen size is certainly 32"; it could not be advertised as such if it were not! I have been more than pleased with it - only had it for a month and it's stunning (the next best TV is a Panasonic plasma @ £200 more - with twice the power consumption). Your 4 year old Samsung would not begin to compare with this model.

The M&S ne has VAT deducted at checkout...so is actually £338, then if you go via Quidco you will get £17. Also includes 5 year warranty, free delivery, plus they unpack, set it up, tune it in, connect up your dvd player, sky box etc.
My mum has just ordered one and being a bit of a technophobe is very happy about this service.

how much does this TV weigh?

The UK seems to have gone Sony 32V4000 crazy! ;-)
#29
our local tesco also had a pallet of them at the door for 349....
#30
that's each - not for the whole pallet :-D
#31
the richer sounds deal incl. 5yr warranty has to be the deal.

i got one from JL with 5yr warranty at 329. its a good looking telly.
#32
Just got off the phone to Richer Sounds, apparently they've sold out completely across all their stores.. :(
#33
argos still have a few left at about 340 with a 3 year warranty....
#34
Lets hope the 32v4000 sells out everywhere and they drop the price of the 32w4000 to the same price.
#35
amazing tv, gr8 price i ordered one from hughes direct, 499 reduced price match 320, cant wait to get it
#36
It's about time these TVs came down closer to their rightful prices... this should be £299, and the 40v4000 should be £499!

Ah sorry, it appeared first on the main page of hotukdeals.com because it was made hot recently and I didn't really notice how old it was!
#39
When I follow the link its saying £399.99, not £329.99.

Went to the checkout anyway, and apparently the SALE25 code you list has also expired.

Sorry but not a deal any more.

Alot of motion blur on this TV so give it a pass if you watch alot of sport.
