Sony BRAVIA 32" LCD TV KDL32S5600U for £352.48.

I know Makro deals usually go down like lead balloons on here, but this might be useful to someone looking out for a Full HD 32" Sony LCD with USB connection?

This TV is £500 in Comet and more elsewhere!
Cheapest price I could find elsewhere was £442.40 delivered from Pixmania, which seems relatively cheap too for those non Makro peeps. (Price right at the time of writing, but maybe discounted with their "Countdown Sale")

Not to be confused with the Sony Bravia KDL32S5500U for £370 from Amazon. This model is 1080p, 33,000 Contrast Ratio and 24p True Cinema Mode.

Thanks to enihat for the Acura Makro deal which lead to me spotting this deal!

Looks like a great deal. Shame not 100hz, but will that make much difference on a tv like this i dont know. Very tempted for my bedroom... was tempted previously with the deal for the s5500 £299 at the Sony Centre... this looks a better deal maybe (although no 5 year warranty).

So then this 1080p @ £352 with 1 year warranty or s5500 not 1080p with 5 year warranty @ £299.... hmmmmmmmm ;-)

Even better then m8... didnt realise that ! (although just checked that link... the 5600 is not listed as one of the tvs that carry 3 year lol... but the 5500 is ??)

Thanx and heat added ;-)

PS the other deal has now changed to £329 anyway on the S5500.

This is true. Makro deals are not for everyone. The Pixmania price posted in the original post is a decent price too, but a lot more than the Makro price.

Interesting. I thought the models with "E" at the end were the European models?

:pirate:CJ:pirate:

EDIT: The U stands for UK and the E for Europe according to this post at AV Forums.

Just picked one up today in Southampton. Loads and loads left... but speaking to the guys there it only lasts till Tuesday. They recon this is the last price drop until all units are sold then no more. Note they had the S5500 there on sale for £449 +VAT (which is odd coz its a well inferiour model and not 1080p... strange).

Happy dayz :-)

Great looking tv in every way. Nice small casing, sweet picture as expected from the Bravia Engine... and just looks and feels quality. All in all a great buy for a great price.

You need to have a membership card to shop in there or if you know someone who has a card then maybe you can ask them to take you in. Not quite sure about the one day pass.... tho

Be careful when ordering

I couldnt find any thing in the terms and conditions that said it has to be bought from specific retailers only..

Some manufacturers will refuse to honor this if you buy else where..

Im with you on that front! our second hand 8 year old Sony is still going strong, but it SO tempting to go for something much smaller when the prices are dropping all the time. TV was originally 28inch, but our dog recently ate the remote and we cant change it back from the setting he ate it up on! Got large black stipes down each side of picture that cut off names of presenters and other useful bits! Aparently LDS's are going to get even cheaper when LED's start to come out later this year. Resistence is futile in the end I guess!!! ;-)
H&R added for this deal, but keeping the credit card locked away this weekend!

I have one of these (paid >£500 back in August) and it's superb. Everything you would expect from a Sony - outstanding picture & solid build quality.

KDL32S5600 is not a UK model. It seems to be European, mainly.

The U at the end of the model name means that it's a UK model.

Whether 100hz, 200hz or 600hz makes a lot of difference is a matter of opinion, on my current tv (toshiba 42zv635db) it does, but on my old panny, i had 100hz and progressive turned off!

don't get me started on C/R. because there is no standard an LCD maker can pull a number out of their backside and sell the TV with a billion to 1 contrast ratio.

if you can go see the LCD in real life and compare the brightness with the other models in the shop(?) LED backlight LCDs improve the blacks and whites even more, making the C/R even less relevant. what really matters is colour and brightness.

watch out for quad pixel LCD this year, thats Red Green Blue and Yellow :-D

Why cant i find a single review of this fine fellow?

Does Makro charge a yearly fee like Costco does ?
