I think this is a misprice from M&S.

They've not got this as a special deal or anything but the price is brilliant.

The KDL-32W5500 is 499
The KDL-37W5500 is 499
The KDL-40W5500 is 750

I think the 37 is supposed to be 599.

It's 716 at

The W5500 has the BE3 engine and 100hz (the V5500 is BE3 with 50hz, the S5500 is BE2 and 50hz)

I was really tempted except the in-store feed to the TV was terrible and I couldn't tell how much better this tele was from this deal...

I asked the staff for a better feed and they said they couldn't change it (they were helpful but said it's company policy not to change the feeds).

I think this is a great TV for under £500. I've not seen a better TV under £500 with a 37" or bigger screen.

£500 for a 37" 1080p Sony, with 5 year guarantee.

Why all the cold votes, are you all sad its not another vibrating sex ring?
Great find. Hopefully it will be this price in a few weeks when I move in to my new flat.
Already has been posted. One of the reason it s voted cold is that sainsbury had it at £399 a while back i believe.
better price than other places but as wazza said there were better prices thats why it might be voted cold
We got one in Sainsbury in December when they were first reduced to £599 - then another when they were £399 :)

PS ETA I didn't vote cold - it's a good price at the moment!
Ordered thankyou, and quidco. This time the wife saw what I was looking at and agreed!!Lol:p
You're right this deal isn't as good as the brilliant Sainsbury's deal. But I missed that deal and it's gone now.

This is the best I can find at the moment.

I thought it was worth a post for anyone who wants a great 37" for under £500.

Maybe worth waiting for a similar deal from Sainsburys, but you might wait forever.
Don't think this is a misprice, rather the 32" version should not be £499, it should be more like £399.
Neither a misprice or a good deal either. Many of us got the 40" KDLW5810 (same as this but newer and more features) last month for £430 with 5yr guarantee.

BTW, as you rightly said, dont EVER take store sets as examples, trust me, this TV is supposed to be the same as the 5810 I have performance wise and its brill!!! SD is so much better than I was expecting and the colours/ blacks are great, in HD its th edogs danglies!!!
Great find. Hopefully it will be this price in a few weeks when I move in to my new flat.

They rarely deliver next day, mine took around 2weeks and only then because I chased them otherwise it would have been more like 4! If you want it, order it but like I said, price wise its not "unmissable"
Did the Sainsburys deal incl a 5 yr warranty?
not 5 years but standard sony 3 years warranty

which is fine by me as will replace the tv anyway with newer model x
Unlucky Alf
Did the Sainsburys deal incl a 5 yr warranty?

i was one of the lucky few to get the sainsbury deal for 399 on the same tv. spoke to sony cust serv who confirmed its got a 3yr warranty.
If only this had Freeview HD I'd be all over it.
just ordered one.....
great find
I have this telly. Got it from Play for 479, the serial # is slightly different but it's essentially the same one.

Cracking telly. Standard definition isn't marvellous, but HD is grand, and pretty soon I'm sure we'll all be watching HD anyway.. Sound is fine too.

Here are some settings that were recommended: the pre-set vivid settings we all tend to use nowadays appear garish after trying these out. Why not give 'em a go.

Backlight: 3 - Change to 4 or 5 if the images look washed out in daytime or if you have a lot of light in the room in the night time
Contrast: 75
Brightness: 49

Colour Temp: Netural
Sharpness: Min
NR: Low
Motionflow: Standard
Film Mode: Auto 1

Advanced Settings:

All ECO settings off

Back Light 5 (But do adjust dependant on lighting)
Contrast 75

Sharpness min
NR Off
Motion Flow Off
Film Mode Auto 1

Black Corrector Off
Adv-Contrast Off

You mean this one?
As mentioned in the OP that has the second Bravia Engine and half the refresh rate....
Bought this exact TV from Very without any codes for £449 + 9% quidco 3 weeks ago.

Didn't reach anywhere near this hot when I posted it.
