don't forget the quidco!!

not a bad price for an old TV, upside is the BE2 engine is better for gaming compared to the EX403 but no Freeview HD and no internet and with the VAT back the EX403 works out £460 (Amazon current selling price £539.99) with Freeview HD and internet, actually Play also do the 40" EX403 for £460 with the VAT back

was in the sony centre at the wknd and this was 480 with a 5 year guarantee.....
also the ex403 we got for 480 with the vat back and a 5 year guarantee....
depends on if you think the guarantee is worth it or not

My parents purchased this TV (going against my advice btw) for around this price on a long expired amazon deal - they are over the moon wih the tv. The sony badge gives its a certain prestige, and the picture quality although I notice the motion blur in fast moving images is not an issue for them. This is a 40" sony for a little over £400 - and for that reason I vote hot.

Personally I'd go for the 40EX503, a significantly better TV for approx £550 after cashback

Also the LE40C650 and LE40C580 are very good TV's in this price range

BestBuy are offering 14.89% Cashback and some TV#s have 10-15% off

Looking for a 40"+ TV now but not sure which one to go for. What are the significant difference between 40EX403 and 40EX503 other than price?

Think it's the same price at Amazon.

MacGyverUS:
503 has 100Hz Motion Blur technology. Sone people will argue this is a bad thing and better turned off!

I'm torn between the 503, Panny G20 and LG 790 (discontinued).

I've just been into Comet and they had the 403 & 503 side by side. I definitely noticed jerking on scrolling text. It's such a shame they insist on using Coax to wire them all up in the shops!!

Which one you decided to go for at the end - 403 or 503? I supposed 503 has jerking effect on scrolling text?
