£799 most places, amazon, etc, can be as cheap as £769 at pixmania, but I wouldn't buy from them if they gave me £799 to take it from them, worst company in the world....ever :x

P.S. for those muppets stupid enough to want to use pixmania use code PIXSALEUK2 for an extra £10 off http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/4073791/art/sony/kdl-40w5810-lcd-televisio.html?

This is a Fantastic Telly and worth every penny. Quality is great however price seems a bit steep. Managed to get this for 3.99 from John Lewis in October, check out the below link might come on offer again:

The 40S which you picked up is no way in the same league as the 40W!

The 40W is a far superior TV but IMHO this price is no Deal...

I love my Panasonic plasma and it's a much older less specified model than the one on offer, I would certainly go for that one.
One feature I especially like is the SD card slot for viewing pictures from a digital camera.

IM A CRAZY FOOL !!! That many number/letters in the title of the TV didnt notice the W instead of the S. Still the S is great and if its anything to go by the W will be far superior. Get it !!

Not even comparable, the W range is far superior to the S range.

Cold- you can get the W5500 less than £700 at Play etc... this tv is no better .. remember if it's cheap at M/S then it's going to be far cheaper elsewhere...

The W5500 isn't a Freesat set and doesn't come with a 5 year warranty so for many people it will be a better deal. The W5500 and many other models are slowly going to be making way for sets with Freeview+ HD...

OP: Don't forget to add 5% Quidco also in your title!

granted, however freeview is now out of date, and replaced with freeview HD , and you can get set top FV boxes for less then 20 quid
Sony honour 3 year warranty too... so still wouldn't touch it, old tech

Freeview 'isn't' out of date otherwise there would be millions of people who can't use their service. Freeview+ HD will offer customers the opportunity to view Terrestrial HD channels. Having a Freeview tuner in your television will not suddenly make your TV old tech, it does mean if you want Freevie+ HD that you'll need to purchase a new box however, but only when it is available in your area, which is currently not the issue for the majority of the country.

Please bear in mind my original response to your earlier post that this set has Freesat (in addition to Freeview) and is therefore capable of accessing Terrestrial HD and possibly BBC iplayer!
