You can get this deal straight from comet home delivered OR you can do as I did today - I walked into Currys and Price Matched it so that Id get their 5 YR Warranty included.

So now I have both of these tv's, one has to be returned. My take on it is
- the nx713 has a brighter, more vibrant image due to its glass panel finish. This is more suited to darker rooms where reflection wont be an issue +The 713 is a single piece of glass. Nice "monolithic" finish!
-the hx803 has 200 motionflow vs 100 on the nx713, but I dont think I will miss this for regular viewing. The change from 50 to 100 Hz WAS discernible, but to me the jump from 100 - 200 wasnt so obvious. Others may disagree.

There are vouchers floating around with quidco (both currys and comet) ie 3% cashback off comet in which case you'd pay 995 -35 (cash back)= £960

For what its worth, I'd rarther get the 5 yr warranty so I pm'd with Currys. No problems. Simple deal!

PS another variation on this deal is to PM it with JL who currently have the nx713 bundle for £1299. Im sure they would PM Comet (unverified)

Good Luck!

forgot to say I also got a grand turismo (GT5) voucher to buy the game for less than £20 in currys when i paid for the nx713. It was only valid nov24th-27th on the voucher receipt so i bought it on the chance that it might be fun for later.

I note there is also a Free PS3 GT5 offer on the nx803 from sony centres here
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/free-ps3-160gb-gt-5-2x-3d-glasses-a/809915

There is also a deal on the nx713 from PC WORLD for £1149.99

This makes variations of this deal interesting! I bet there are some regular forumites, Deal Connoisseurs, out there who could make this deal even more exciting with savvy use of vouchers!

look closer and it's not just for the hx803 but any 3d tv inc the nx713. I'm trying to decide if the 40nx713(£1300) is worth the extra £120 or so over the 40hx803(£1170).

fowler, ive got both the hx803 and the nx713 - id say the 200Mhz (hx803) motionflow vs the 100Hz (nx713) is the only real advantage the hx803 has other than being £120 cheaper with Sony Centres.

There was previously a £200 off code for Sony centres, ive googled without luck for a valid one which would make the ps3 combo deal awsome!

Id suggest the NX713 is not worth the extra unless you prefer the asthetic look of it and require wifi built in (HX803 requires a £50+ wifi dongle).

You might also do the deal with a PM to JL or Currys (both 5 year warranties) and then ebay the free blu ray player and put that toward the ps3.

When I bought the NX713 in Currys today, the guy said their offers change next Thursday and he was expecting a price change or new ps3 combo deal.

If only promo codes could be applied after a PM!!

This could get interesting, especially if a £60 off, plus quidco 3% can be applied then!

Calling all Hotukdeals Gurus can we make this deal hotter by creative use of any vouchers out there?

smiler if you're still reading this, is there any other major difference spec wise between the 2 or just the wifi and refresh rate?

I've read the review in what hifi for the hx803, 4 out of 5 stars, they mention that there's backlight issue during 3d playback, found no reviews on the nx713 yet tho.

fowler, there are no discernible differences both in standard def and hi def apart from those already mentioned between the hx803 and the nx713. I have now returned my hx803 for the nx713. The HX series is according to the guys at the Sony centre I spoke to, supposed to be the best for overall Picture Quality, the nx having motion flow, but the Hx having motion flow pro. But side by side i chose the NX because
1) it looked better to me (asthetically - feel free to disagree!)
2) I can live without the 200 Motionflow.

Also when both screens are set to "vivid" the NX713 has slightly better, more vibrant contrast levels. I think this is due to the glass panel finish on it. The NX is definetly more suited to dark rooms. The HX is definetly more suited to brighter rooms (ie not so reflective on the screen as the NX)

Also the if youre going to buy one of these TV's, I couldnt wait, but if you can hang about for 2 more weeks before pulling the trigger £1069 seems to be the average price of this telly WITH a 3D package now (Richer Sounds, JL with PM, Comet, Currys with PM) - then I predict this deal will get better as more discounts for the xmas rush will be introduced. I was in Comet again today and the chap there said they were planning a 10% in store reduction in some branches very soon. I walked accross the road into BestBuy and the guys said " We'll match anything the other guys are doing!" There seems to be a Currys Megastore Vs BestBuy Vs Comet War of sorts on at the moment with us being the beneficiaries of good deals! You might save yourself £100-£150 if you can wait.

Also there are PS3 consoles with 3d games being given out instead of the blue ray pack and 5 movies from some Sony Centres.

Good Luck!

How did you get the 5yr warranty included from curries? :/ I thought only john lewis was doing that (I asked in currys and they said they matched price but couldnt match the 5yr)

Keithop:

1) did PM with Comet
2) Currys Lakeside Thurrock are still doing 5 yr warranties on all tellies over £799.

Voila

I note curries have just dropped prices to match with comet now so its even cheaper now with coupons!
