I can't find any info on this model anywhere! It's not even on displayspecifications.com. Does it go by a different model name?

Pretty sure this was £550 last week, bumped up to £799 for a few days and now back down to £550 as a "lightning deal". Nice price though (Y)

The difference between this and the 7005 is the motion-flow level which the 7005 has slightly higher.

The 7005 is currently £50 more expensive so saying this has dropped £250 is just Amazon playing games.

Also interestingly another difference is the 05 has a "HDR Video" mode while the 04 does not on the Sony website.

What's the difference between this and the XD8088BU?
TRILUMINOS™ Display (so a greater percentage of the colours) and motionflow level is higher (still the same native) on the xd80. Just asked in a Sony store. Manager said the one time he had them set up side by side he couldn't tell the difference in colour but then it comes down to a personal thing if you can perceive a difference or not.

So the XD80 on paper is better?

Anyone buying this for gaming should be aware there's an issue with input lag and Sony are locking/deleting any threads on their forums about the issue, they have also dropped plans for a marshmellow update.

source if the link works, if not just search sony bravia on reddit.

Yes, in reality by how much is slightly more personal perception.

Doesn't mention which models, seems to be on the larger ones. Any ideas?

Also mentions of a patch which fixes the issues in question.

I couldn't tell the difference between triluminous and non triluminous Sony TV's side by side in John Lewis. Even the sales assistant couldn't.

Indeed, I didnt have a reason to distrust him, it is the opposite of an upselling technique.
