I have this Tv picture quality on Xbox360 is Fantastic its full 1080p
#4
I know this. This is the TV they give away at the carphone warehouse with a contract.

But the contracts are £25 a month... so there's no point because the phones on that are worth only £25 anyway... just buy the phone and get a sim.

Amazed at the amount of people who fall into those traps.

In any case, this is a decent TV, personally I would rather have a bigger one for the living room, but this is very decent if you don't have 'blu-ray and all those crazy gadgets' and just use your TV as a Television.

It's not 1080p its 720p isn't it?

It says 'HD ready' which in 90% of cases means 720p.

1366 x 768 so 720p/768p however you look at it.

Nope. A relative got one of these a while back, first thing I did was bosh a load of different files on a usb stick and see what it could handle. standard def stuff was pretty good - xvid/divx etc, but no mkv support.

It will accept a 1080p input signal, but the tv can only physically output 720p so the 1080p signal from your xbox is being downsampled.
#18
it says this in the manual

Video
Video Signal: 1080/60p (HDMI™ / COMPONENT),
1080/60i, 1080/24p (HDMI™ ONLY), 720/60p,
480/60p, 480/60i

Could this double as a PC monitor?

I should think so... But wouldn't 32'' be a bit too much for a PC?

Pretty useless Quidco rate, I ended up going through Nectar instead.

yep totally correct  my 32" HD ready tv does the same. 1366x768 panel but everything says 1080p (ps3, xbox 360, wd tv and cinema system) so like u said i would imagine its changing the 1080p signal down to 720p on the tv instead of the device. thanks for helping me understand :)

No worries - at least I didn't completely waste my time trying to help explain it!

Good on ya mate - I was crying with laughter when reading this, "buh buh buh ma telly says 1080p signal so it must be, the spec must be wrong....blah blah".

I have no problem with people making a mistake or misunderstanding, we all do it - But when they consistantly fail to accept the cold truth without checking the facts for themselves it becomes hillarious.
#28
i see the 1080p snobs are out again,i really donmt see why anyone puts a deal on here for tv's anymore as they get flamed like a pig on a barby
#29
This TV is 1080p through HDMI. I got the 26" E4040 and has the same spec. But it goes to 1080p through HDMI only

cant go wrong if I have read everything correctly.

I've heard these are pretty poor sets, anyone confirm this? SD is well below average, though does an alright job of HD.

Cheers

Hi, not too bothered about 1080, just looking for a telly for my Mum. This seems like a good buy for the price, anyone got any other suggestions or should I just get this one. :?
#34
Hot - I'm having one, the ex-fiance is taking his back, so I'm replacing it with a better one! Woohoo!
#35
Just ordered, anyone know when I can expect delivery? site says 3-5 days, do they give you any indication as to when it will be??

I got one of these in the last bank holiday sales, it was £275 then.

Excellent TV we got it for the conservatory. It's wall mounted and ends up so neat. The USB port is in just the right place so when you put a pen drive in it's hidden. You can then watch divx/xvid videos from the pen drive or play mp3 albums. So we can use it for Freeview / Videos / MP3's all in one neat package.

The sound quality is excellent as is the picture. I was slightly unsure when I purchased it if it was 720p or 1080p as the literature for it is very confusing and does make it sound like it is full 1080p when using hdmi. I ended up buying it under the assumption it was 720p, at the end of the day it's only a 32" so do you really need 1080p for TV? We also sit approx 5m away so you really wouldn't be able to tell the difference!

Been really pleased with the purchase, no complaints at all. Voted hot but only just due to the price being good but not quite as good as it was a few weeks ago!
