I have been through all the reviews and could not find a better priced 100hz TV from the top brands for 37" 2D viewing . Lot of this is due to Sony's Motionflow XR 200 technology apparently which has won praise. 3D picture not considered amazing, but for this price its as if you are getting 3D for free anyway. Ideal for those who care more about getting excellent 2D picture quality, built in freeview HD and want decent internet functionality.

-----------------------------------

Using edge-LED technology to enable a slim screen, the Sony Bravia KDL-37EX723 37" Full HD LED 3D TV also boasts wonderful picture quality with 1080p detail and image enhancement from the powerful X-Reality picture engine. A built-in Freeview HD tuner as well as four HDMI connectors provides you with plenty of potential for High Definition entertainment.

Exhilarating 3D entertainment also awaits with the Sony Bravia KDL-37EX723 37" Full HD LED 3D TV, in fantastic Full HD detail. You're also guaranteed beautifully smooth action sequences in either 2D or 3D thanks to this sophisticated Smart TV's Motionflow XR 200 technology.

The Sony Bravia KDL-37EX723 37" Full HD LED 3D TV also connects to your home internet connection, either through an Ethernet cable or an optional WiFi adapter, and provides you with a raft of web-based functions. You'll enjoy services such as YouTube, LoveFilm, and BBC iPlayer, as well as being able to set up Skype video calls (separate camera needed). There's even an integrated browser, so you can catch up with your own favourite websites!

Further scope for your amusement is provided by the USB interface, which can be used to input photos, videos, or music files as well as enabling TV recording to an external hard drive.

No mention of whether any 3D glasses are included? Not overly convinced Sony is worth paying extra for anymore for casual viewing...

Hmm, "3D picture not considered amazing, but for this price its as if you are getting 3D for free anyway. Ideal for those who care more about getting excellent 2D picture quality"
Great logic !

Voted Hot. I've not seen a 37 inch LED, 100Hz for much cheaper. The Samsung C6530 HD LED TV is the closest competitor from Samsung and it costs at least £700 with no 3D. Panasonic is also much more expensive for an equivalent 37 inch. I appreciate that you can often get a bigger screen for not much more money but often (like me) the living room is only big enough for 37 inch. Going to 40 inch will mean being too close to benefit from sharp picture quality.

Grey Owl, genuinely what LED TV would you rather buy for a better price & quality in the 37 inch bucket? (i'm not bothered about 3D). Would be keen to hear from people on alternatives as I am looking.
#8
I just looked at the alternatives; Samsung C6530 and Panasonic L37DT30 LED 100 HZ 37 inch TVs. £700 for the Samsung and £900 for the Pana. If like me your room can't fit 40 inch (as you lose the sharpness of picture when you get too close) I could not see anything better priced. Voting HOT

Why pay a lot more for a 3D TV that is only average at producing 3D ? Surely you pay extra for a 3D TV that's great at 3D or what's the point ?
Why pay extra for LED edge lighting ? I'm not convinced it produces a better picture. The type of panel may be more important. ( 37" panels are avoided by some manufacturers )
It just means a slimmer TV and possibly less power usage.
I understand the optimum distance for viewing an HDTV is no more than 2x screen size.
2x37 = just over 6ft. 2x40 = just over 6ft6ins
Will 6ins make that much difference in your room ?
Unless the Sony 40EX503 drops in price over the next couple of months, I'll be looking at the 2D LCD LG42LK530T with 100hz and freeview HD for £499 from RicherSounds. 5yr guarantee and delivery makes it about £575 at the moment. Just awaiting on some reviews first.

It's not expired.

Greyowl "Why pay a lot more for a 3D TV that is only average at producing 3D?" Answer is you are not paying more. You are paying less than other 37 inch TVs which have no 3D!!!

You are missing the point. Find me a better deal for a Sony, Panasonic or Samsung 37 INCH TV which has AS GOOD picture quality? I challenge you.

LG is not what I would rate as a quality brand. Of course they will be cheaper. If they weren't, no one would buy them.

I assume you mean good for 3D viewing as well as 2D ?
How about a 40" Samsung + 3D Bluray player + 2x glasses for the same price ?

Which is why no-one has said that, they already know...
Onkyo have been around years and make great AV kit. Those that dismiss a product simply because they haven't heard of the brand before are opening themselves to ridicule.

If you want 3D check out the link in post #14 you obviously missed.
If you want an excellent 2D TV, save £80 and get the Sony 40EX503 from Richersounds.

I think you misunderstood my sarcasm, i have been an owner of many onkyo amps and yes they are good value for money.

As for the Samsung you have pointed out, cheers for showing me a tv with absolutely no reviews or information on. The Sony EX503 is also a budget tv and not worth my time imo. My current tv is much better than what you have pointed out.
