Great price for modern tech ... something to watch my free 4 hours of lovefilm tv on from my free annual subscription

Surprised it took them this long to respond to the Play/Richer Sounds offer.

NOTE: Amazon description is wrong, no internet tv on this model. All it does is music and photos via usb, not even video.

Cheers for the info on the internet tv thing. Just what I was just about to ask.

I was tempted bit believe its 720p, which is a shame, im sure its just as good, but im funny with this sorta thing.

I need a 22/23 inch, with 2x HDMI and 1080p and its hard to find a good deal!

I've just bought a Samsung UE22C4010 (the white one) after initially thinking that 1080p was a 'must', Then i realised that it's a 22" tv, and wondered just how much better a 1080 frame looks on a screen that size, especially if one is predominantly watching SD Freeview......

If you're after a 22" for both tv & PC monitor duties, then there's some justification for 1080, otherwise not worth the candle really.

The main reason I chose the Samsung was it's depth, or lack of it - just 29mm. Will look great wall-mounted. This Sony is a good deal, but far more chunky.

That Amazon description is pretty shoddy in general. States the boxed package weighs 7Kg, but the 'item' (assuming the tv) weighs just 998g. A 22" television that weighs less than a kilo...... Riiiiiiiight......

As said above, the features list for this TV IS COMPLETELY WRONG.

The OP should edit the first post to clearly state this.

Moneysaving idea:
I'd say it is worth comparing 720 and 1080 at the distances you 'll be viewing at. I have a 46" 1080 tv and my brother has a 32" 720tv and sitting at sensible distances there is no difference at all...

Shame this doesn't do USB video, or it'd have been ordered today. :(

Did you watch HD content though? SD content will probably make no difference.

I know sony is a good brand but for £20 less you can get an onkyo....umm sorry a Hanspree 25" LCD tv/monitor full HD 1080 freeview deal I posted here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hannspree-st251-25-lcd-freeview-ful/760177/?page=2#post9416956

Once I take delivery I'll be complaining to Amazon about the incorrect specs on site and see what they say!!

Specs are a load of bull.
[email protected] is Samsung's name for it. Sony call it Bravia Internet Video and Bravia Internet Widgets or something
#15
Voted cold

Its not internet ready as the deal suggests.

That's what makes me lean more towards the Samsung C450

Ordered one of these, bargain

However does anyody know of any wall mounts for these? The only ones I have seen online so far are the swivel stands and not the mounts that sit flush against the wall

I've noticed Richersounds are also doing this tv for sub-£200 and their description also includes video from USB...surely this can't be correct? Hope it does though!!

Anyone know if this is any good for use with an Xbox 360?
#20
Ended up getting one and am very impressed.

As usual, picture is awful out of the box but with a few tweaks, basically turn off all those silly picture "improvement" features, turn down the backlight and then tweak the normal controls till it's the way you like it. Picture quality is now excellent even from Sky through RF. Viewing angles are also very good for an LCD, the Freeview EPG puts most TVs to shame and the sound is more than acceptable for bedroom use.

Only thing I don't like is you can't properly turn it off, the power button on the side only puts it into standby, and it had a surprisingly large power light glaring red at you all the time so you need to turn it off at the socket.

Only does music and photos via USB as I've already said.

Yep it's really good with the 360 and being 720p you get a much sharper picture than you would if it was the 1080 all those mupps think is vital nowadays.

Who doesn't? Think it's up to the individual what resolution theyd like.

I was considering this as a monitor replacement, but 720p wont cut the mustard.

What he is saying is its pointless getting a 1080P screen on something so small and he is bang on so no you don't need 1080p on a screen this size.

p.s Please know what your talking about before commenting.

Why is it pointless? Surely that depends on the usage. As i was looking to use it as a desktop monitor replacement, i would be well within the distance whereby the increased resolution offered by 1080p over 720p is noticeable.

I think you'll find i'm bang on there.
