I have been pondering which TV to get for weeks. Just can't seem to take the plunge. I saw the Samsung le32c530 for under £300 and this is full HD.......oh the choice, the choice.

Seems a great deal for a Sony.

Sainsburys in Dundee are doing this telly for £279. Only once you buy it, take it out of the box and find the handbook do you find it is the lower pixel rate (cant remember the number). Most expensive tellys are something like 1080 pixels and this is not so good.
Picture looks fine though to me for the price and it was a doddle to set up.

It's actually cheaper than £299. Go through Quidco and you get 3% so that's £9 (or thereabouts)saved but then you get the VAT back by redemption from Sony. By my reckoning with VAT redemption ( worth £45) and Quidco you're looking at a brand new Sony, albeit an entry level, at £245 so I think it makes it pretty HOT.

Just noticed also the Comet voucher code 3005 for any purchase over £300 which expires on 7.11.10. Take the purchase just over the £300 and you get 5% off when you book it online for collection from store so you can get about another 15 quid off, so even better.

Yes, there are 'HD Ready' TV's which are usually 768pixels and then 'Full HD' which are 1080 pixels.

An HD ready screen still gives good performance and many people (continually!) argue that 1080 is hardly noticeable on a 32" screen so not a big deal.

I'd say that for under £300 this is a good deal for a branded product.
