agree from what i have read am waiting for a deal on the "42"

just a quick note of interest it was £273 on a lighten deal at amazon on black friday i think and the "42" was £400 that day at john lewis so if u prefer a bigger size maybe hope for a boxing day discount(like me) still a hot price at £309 considering the 5 year guarantee rather pay the extra for that TBH

Great price, great tv. Ive had one for a few weeks now and i use it with my ps4 and its excellent.
Not the slimmest tv there is, but it does have good sound. It also has a satellite connection, which was a bonus as well as freeview hd.
It also has most of the catchup channels and is dlna compliant, i am well happy with it

in the JL spec it doesn't mention freesat? can anyone confirm if it has?

I'm looking for a 32" with freesat, LG Samsung or Sony.

We got a samsung ue32H5500akxxu last week from John Lewis it was an open box so we got it for £219.00 with the 5 year warranty, normal price is £279.00. Great tv really happy with it plus it has more players on the apps than any other make I.e itv player as Sony doesn't have this usually.

Only the 42" has ridiculously low input lag, the 32" is higher, I bought and returned. See my 'review' on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R2VZMD27C1A7PA/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00HZAVA70#wasThisHelpful

good info i vaguely remember reading somewhere about that but since i am after the "42" it slipped my mind seems odd that the "32" is slower

just waiting on a sub £400 now for the "42" as all i want to use tv for is mainly gaming and i don't think it can be beat for that at the price range

If its double that of the 42", then it stand to reason it mimics the W6.
if so then it will still be a very low input lag (Sub 20ms?) and still make it one of the best all rounders.
#12
Oops forgot to mention, I use the Samsung F5000 for gaming monitor, that has >16ms input lag (professionally measured at apparent 28ms, but with the laptop test I get 16ms)

i use the 42 W7 (2014 model) and 32 W6 (2013 model) the 42" is the best out there atm for low input lag tvs confirmed with leo bodnar device 13.5msecs £429 at JL and Currys personally go with Jl because of the 5 years guarantee.

How are you getting John Lewis to price match Cooperative Electrical? They have just refused my request

Just filled in the form, make sure the link you give to them takes them to the silver trim on the co op electrical page. As first time I did it, i gave them link to black trim. And they said they couldn't find it.

Thanks, but below is the response I received... Is Cooperative Electrical online only?

In order to apply a price reduction on a purchase, the criteria in our pricing policy must be met. I regret that after review the request you have submitted does not match all or parts of this policy.

In order to match a price request, the competitor must trade on the same basis as us, for example we will not match online only retailers, mail order only or show-rooms attached to internet-only orders.

As Cooperative Electrical is an online only retailer on this occasion I regret that I cannot match the price they are offering for the Sony Bravia television If you would like to view more information about Never Knowingly Undersold and our pricing you can do so on our website.

I am sorry I have not been able to reduce the price on this occasion. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi thats strange this is what I received.

I have looked into your request and will be happy to match the price of £299.99 for the Sony Bravia KDL32W7 LED HD 1080p Smart TV, 32" with Freeview HD, Silver   seen online at The co-op electrical

Maybe try again, or ring them.
#18
Avoid John Lewis - they cancelled my order after 4 working days, apologized with no solid reason given, asked me re-order then cancelled it AGAIN with no reason given !

Additionally p.s. John Lewis will NOT match co-op - I tried this as well they will not. Seems like JL are selective crooked cowboys, with no consistency

Here is John Lewis's response (unedited):

[u][i]Dear ,

In order to apply a price reduction on a purchase, the criteria in our pricing policy must be met. I regret that after review the request you have submitted does not match all or parts of this policy.

We match prices publicly available to all UK customers, based on those displayed in the shop, the first price quoted to us over the phone or the price openly accessible on a competitor’s website. We will not match prices only available to certain customers such as negotiated prices, special deals from voucher codes or exclusive offers for groups such as account holders and club members.

This means that I am unable to include any special discount codes or cash back offers that can be used to reduce the competitors price.

I am sorry I have not been able to reduce the price on this occasion. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Jake Connolly

Apart from the price matching you just metioned, I can't find a better alternative than your deal, but here are some codes to make your deal even better:
Code: PCX20: £20 off orders over £300*
Code: PCX10: £10 off orders over £150*

*Note: You can only use one code per order

Anyway heat added 8)

There is a satellite tuner in the W705B models but there is no Freesat EPG.

If you hook up a sky or freesat dish to the TV, it will pick up all the UK and foreign channels broadcast from the Astra 2 satellites. The channel list won't be organised in any particular logical order (for UK viewing).

I have this TV too. It's top dollar for gaming. I put a small soundbar underneath it to give the audio a bit more welly, but you really can't argue with the picture quality at all. Also ford78 seems to have had a bad JL experience, but I think calling them "crooked cowboys, with no consistency" is a little unfair - and I would suspect a long way away from most people's experience.

Edited By: Curlynob on Jan 01, 2015 14:23: autocorrect changed soundbar to sounder!

Thanks guys for your comments much appreciated, with the price matching with co operative electrical, don't know if I got lucky, or others were just unlucky, got the offer from them for 30 days, so was just holding out to see if anything better came up. Cheers guys.
#26
Hi guys you can expire this deal, co operative price has gone back up to £349. £309 is still available at john lewis and currys.
