Sony KDL37S5500U 37 Inch Full HD Digital LCD TV - £399.99 from Argos using code SONY50 + £5.95 p+p.

Found the code (£50 off 32-40in Sony Television Orders at Argos) on another site. I am not registered with Argos so can;t confirm if the code is working. But if it is then a good price for 37" Full HD LCD. ;-)

(Code can be used for home delivery only and not R+C)

Has anyone been able to get the 3 year guarantee? I bought a 32" Bravia from Amazon over a month ago and sent the form off. Not heard anything from Sony tho.

Me neither.

I think the 401 series TV in this post is the 2009 model by the way. The 403 series is the 2010 one, and has the internet connection, and so on.

White.

The S/V/W 5500 /5810 and other variants were 2009 - EX anything is 2010...

heads up: Sony are currently doing a deal where you get £100 for ANY tv you trade in for a new Sony Bravia. Not 100% sure what its about but do check before you go and spend your hard earnt cash !!
#10
Do you reckon that these prices will shoot down after the world cup !??
#11
New Sony with no decent reviews anywhere. Their quality has dropped by a fair bit over the last year or so (especially on the lower end stuff like this). I'd hold off until some reviews pop up from the likes of 'Trusted Reviews' etc.

I used to consider myself a Sony 'Fanboy', but have lost faith in them of late.

Anyone know what frequency this runs at?

TBH that doesn’t really matter as some areas won’t be getting freeview HD till 2012 anyway.
Plus if you already have Sky HD or something similar any of these full HD TV's that are coming down in price would be great.

I belive this is 50hz...cant be bad for the price though..it is bravia 2 not 3

also with regards with the 3 year warranty-you dont get anything through the post-they do e-mail you-i guess thats your proof!

Freeview HD is pants, not having Freeview HD is an advantage

How is not having Freeview HD an advantage (apart from the fact this set costs a little less because of it)?
I now have Freeview HD, and seems fine to me. Also looking forward to the WC in decent quality for a change  .

Not if you live in an area that doesn't get Freeview HD (and isn't likely to for a long time....like mine). Why pay for something you can't use?
Have gone ahead and ordered this and it's due to be delivered tomorrow.
Will post back once my Sky HD box arrives.

For the person that mentioned the LoveFilm & YouTube facility these are also available on Sony's newer BluRay/DVD players which are also a lot cheaper to replace if they go wrong. (£135ish)
I tend to think it's probably a safer option with tech moving all the time.

I just bought a kdl40ex503 from the Sony Centre Original selling price £899.99, reduced to £749.99, and got £100.00 trade in on my 15 year old Sharp 21inch set that I had in my spare bedroom. I thought £649.99 was a steal personally.......;-)

I believe the price in the Manchester Arndale is currently £799.99 but not 100% sure. Apparently the Sony Centres are franchises so prices can vary across the country. it would be worth checking out a Sony Centre to see how this price compares to the amazon prices.
