Seen this popping up everywhere lately, but today saw it in my local Sainsburys for only £399!

Offer also at RicherSounds for £399... Currys will pricematch:

http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/sony/bravia-kdl40ex403/sony-kdl40ex403

Same offer as at amazon recently and comet during boxing day, this truly is a great TV and as an owner myself i'll say its great value for money, has a very similar media interface to the ps3.

High Definition at a comfortably low price
Watch subscription free, High Definition TV with Freeview HD built in
Access YouTube™ and Catch Up TV with BRAVIA® Internet Video
Enjoy full High Definition 1080p picture quality
Easily connect to Blu-ray players, games consoles and more via 4 HDMI and BRAVIA® Sync

it is a mistake. The deal is non existent.

Saw it in the Loughborough store, if it helps.

Not so good for games I hear. The LG 42LD450 got a better review in that area so I went with one of them.

If it comes back in stock at John Lewis while Sainsbury deal is on you could get a price match with 5 year guarantee.
#11
If only is 100Hz I definitely will get it. Thumb up for the price though.

You may well be right, as offers change all the time, but i saw a 40inch sony tv in sainsburys during the week, but it wasn't this model, was the one argos had at 399.99 recently, maybe Ex401, curious that you are certain it is this model, as it has bravia 3 and freeview hd.

Have this TV, really happy with it. Run Sky HD and PS3 with it
Got it for around this price when Tesco were doing their trade in deals a while ago

5 Year Sony Warranty
Just a word of warning on this, if you can contact Sony before buying to query this they will probably tell you Sainsburys are not a participating retailer. Check previous threads on this deal at Sainsburys or the threads for the 5-year Sony warranty, good luck finding someone who has used this form and got their warranty from Sony.

The free 5-year warranty deal is meant to be for people who have bought the TV instore from a small retailer (gives them a chance to compete against the bigger & probably cheaper stores).

Edited to add links to the two previous threads on the 5-year warranty:

Is Amazon one of the participating retailer? Does not say on the form...though this particular sony model is included...I have sent my sales receipt for VAT back, I need to send for 5 yr warranty if amazon is included.

With all respect this is a warranty you get for an instore purchase after the shop has given you a demonstration ... so not sure how you would expect Amazon to be included!!X)

i dont believe this deal,it muust have been the 40bx400 model instore. No way saisnburys would sell it for 400.
#28
what sainsburys store did you buy this TV from.
banned#29
To be honest, I don't really care about these extra features it offers ( Internet/DLNA/Youtube ) etc. The problem with these features is that, online content are served in variety of different codecs (Audio/Video both ). The decoding capabilities of this type of television is very low or very limited. It is a much better solution to have a good 100MHZ full HD tele ( Sony/Samsung ) at low price, and spend the rest of the money on getting a decent home entertainment system ( Popcorn/DLink/Logitech ). Costs still the same, but with much more possibilities and immediate future proof yourself for at least 3 to 4 years.
#30
I bought mine from Amazon at the same price. I returned it back next day, because the picture is so much more inferior than my Samsung LE40C580 and it plays much less file formats than the Samsung too. Internet TV could be helpful, but it's not that easy to browse.
#31
Went to the Sainsburys the one next to John Lewis in Cheadle, dont have this model instore, so cannt get them to price match LOL. If Currys are one of the participating stores for the free Sony 5 yr warranty, then might try them instead and also get 10% off.
#32
Gutted would of grabbed one bought a LC40C580 on friday.

As i said...some, including me, are getting thsi DELIVERED, not instore for 599 including delivery, 5 year warranty and its teh LED version of the EX503.
I have the EX 503, bought it from JL last year for 649 but this NX703 is amazing value at 599!
Seriously guys, its a great TV for the money

This wasn't in the Newbury Park Sainsburys store. Only the Samsung C530 for £399 and another toshiba 40" for £379, both which you could get cheaper elsewhere.
#38
My 2 nearest stores have Sony's at this price but they are all 40BX400 models.
#39
The KDL40EX403U @ Beckton Sainsburys is £669.99 :(
Perhaps it's only £399 @ the Loughborough store?

There was not any in Staines.
