690 doesnt get good reviews over on AV that I've seen/read. The Sony EX503 is a good TV.. just the viewing angles let it down as understood... why not the Sammy ?

The only edge the LG has is better speakers, if you have a surround sound then get the sony... If you want to use the built in speakers then get the LG... My Opinion

Sony Centre @ Cribbs Causeway. For an extra £50 they would give you the 370 Blu Ray player too.

Stuck between this 40EX503 and the Samsung UE40C6620. Decisions decisions.....
#15
mypremium and ohitsaidwalker, where have you read this?

the lg thread on avforums seems to rather like the 690 series?
#16
Hi Risheet, the specific thread on the LG owners specific forum reports a like but im sure within the 100's of other threads I have read that there are people who offer a different view. Not sure why I mentioned it really, beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all?

I phoned the Sony Centre at Meadowhall Sheffield and they confirmed what you have posted.
If you wanted the next model down ( KDL40EX403U),then that is available for £449.99 inc 5 year warranty).Must be ordered in store(not online)to get 5 year warranty.

I've got this years LG and Sony models, there's nothing between picture quality really. The interface and remote on the sony models and iplayer integration really does put them way ahead mind.

and i'm not unhappy with the lg tv i've got either its really good. just if i was asked which was better and why.

Is it possible to connect a recording thing to the TV to record the Freeview HD?

I have Sky+ at the minute but looking to cancel it and replace it with a nice new TV and recorder.
#20
slightly ot... but does anyone know of a TV which offers direct USB recording to a stick or hard drive?
no space for a box!

Was about to buy this last week, but then I realised that the input lag is quite high at 60ms, which is not good for gaming. Not a problem for me, but no good for my son on the PS3.

HoT for the this particular model and its cheaper than the 32" priced around 579
#24
Great price!
I've got the 32" version of this and it is terrific, especially if you pair it with a Sony S370 blu-ray player.

do not buy LG, Sony offers 3 years warranty as standard
#28
Don't be put off by the 'input lag', I have one with a 360 and wii connected, forza 3 and gtaIV look stunning with hardly any noticable blurring. Get One!
#29
But is there any noticeable delay between using the controllers and seeing the results on screen?

As far as I know it will not record via the USB. The Samsung 6620 will though.

DAK how the 12 months warranty actually works when you buy a Sony TV from Amazon.

Say after 6 months something goes wrong ---------------------- how do you get it repaired.
