excellent deal!

This TV is really good, bought it last Friday from Amazon. The price then was £554.99, but they still had the 10% discount running that brought it in under £500. Heat added as a 3 year warranty has to be worth £50.

amazing picture

Hmm. Grappling about whether to get this or the equivalent Samsung LE40C580. But is it worth waiting for the 100Hz TVs to come down in price....and will this happen before the VAT increase??

So who's ringing Sony first....

Tell them if they say yes to expect a busy afternoon....

I presume the 'matching bluray' would be a S360 or S370 which would be amazing - can you confirm?
#17
just phoned my local sony centre (Belfast) and they have no such offer.

Yes this is true, i saw this in Stains sony center. Seems they still have, try your luck. I feel it is a cracking deal. I bought the same tv from Amazon for £540 last week and opened the packing, otherwise i would have returned and grab the sony center's offer..

How does this compare to the Sony KDL-40EX603U LED TV which is £699 at Currys?
Is it worth paying the extra for the LED version?
#23
Sony Centre Deal Is:
KDL40EX503 (5 year warranty) @ £699. Minus £100 for an old TV trade in = £599
For another £50 they will throw in the S370 Blu ray Player (1 year warranty)
My local store knew nothing about free stand, blu ray, tv for £599 so may be specific only.

Apparently the 503 has a better picture and the 603 is only 50hz, although it is LED backlit. Read all the reviews of the 503, its as good as they say.

this is a good TV, only down side is the soiund isn't the best,, but it's still good.
#26
oh, and another thing, i got this with 5 yr warranty, bdp-s373 blu ray player and a tv stand for £799 at the sony centre in september.

i was in kingston at the weekend and they have dropped it to £699... and if you take in your old tv they knock another £100 off making it £599.99 for TV, bluray, stand and five year guarantee. now that's a bargain..... wish i could take mine back, get a refund and then get the same deal but for £599.99 saving myself £200...

i just checked the website and it's not on there... next time i'm in kingston i will try and get a flyer.... but if your that interested give them a call... 0208 541 0681

not sure if it's nation wide...
just read the thread properly, seems like evry1 else knows the deal too..... buy it... you will not regret it..............

Is there a limit to what tv you trade in?
Cheers

I got this last weekend from John Lewis with free delivery and a 5 year guarantee for £599-95.
The price dropped from £649 only for the weekend, might do the same this weekend.

My local Sony centre said as long as the screen is intact (Health and Safety) they will accept it, even if it does not work.
#33
Would be grateful if someone can tell me if the Nottingham store has the free blueray offer.

Oxford Sony centre are doing the tv for £599 plus £50 for the blue ray! Not as good a deal, think I'll have to phone all local centres
#37
Spoken to three different centres in my region and the best they can do in £649 for the package.
#38
Think you will find that even though Sony Centres are all independently owned, they will all have roughly the same offers as they get fed by Sony. I can't imagine Sony giving out better deals to certain centres as this would cause uproar!!!

Just snapped up the previously-mentioned deal from Staines Sony Centre .....

Sony Bravia KDL-40EX503U
Black 3 Tier Glass Stand (39" in width, same as the TV)
Sony BDPS373 BluRay Player
5 Year Parts and Labour Warranty

£5998)

I paid for courier delivery (as I live 270-odd miles away from Staines) for just an extra £21.

So in total £620 delivered. ABSOLUTE BARGAIN ;)

The salesman was excellent and seemed to think that the deal would end today. There is a few days wait for delivery as demand has been so high. I'm willing to wait a few days considering the saving ! The same deal bought at Argos would cost almost £1,500 !!!!
