Credit must go to Zoomster, who posted a deal for this same tv yesterday for [email protected], which was a hot deal in itself, which is currently at 321 degrees by the way. But without seeing his original post i wouldn't of been looking for this model.

hmm, making me think me getting a samsung A686 40" reciently might have been hasty!

Clearly a bargain, but be warned, the CCFL 503 and 703 have reviewed very well, but this is backlit with edge-LED, and also only has 50hz motion. So who knows whether it's a good set or not.

Am i right in saying the 703 has got Edge LED as well?
The 503 does have some pretty good reviews, but is CCFL backlighting now considered "old" technology ?
I'm also really confused as to why the 603 hasn't got 100hz motionflow, as with the 503 and 703.
Seems bizzare why Sony would do that !

Sony totally mixes up their TVs. You will see although the 703 has 200hz, it doesn't have freeview HD like the 603. So unless you just want to go top of the range, they make you really decide on which features are more important to you. One review of the 703 said it was edge-lit, but the official site says it is CCFL, so I have no idea. Also, edge lit will have better contrast than the CCFL, but might have various other problems making it actually worse. Impossible to tell without a review!

this thing that differentiates the ex603 and the ex703 is the 100hz and even slimmer design. People who dont care about 100hz get the ex603. I went for the ex503 as i could notice the 50hz - smearing on football
