This was recently posted at £999 and is still £999 online, but in the Cribbs Causeway store today it was £899. Just to reiterate this included the Sony BDP-S570 3D Ready Blu-ray Disc Player which they normally sell for £229 and of course the 5 year warranty.

Just to give you an idea the 32" version was given 5 stars by What HiFi.

Doubtful, most of them just see the TV size, the price and vote accordingly.

I have no doubt as Weenie Beenie Eludes to, that there is probably so cheapo make in Tesco or Asda that's cheaper.

It's hardly worth posting deals here anymore.

Thanks Weenie, I think if someone posted a Bugatti Veyron on here for £50,000 then it would be voted cold as people could find a Skoda for less......................
Makes you wonder why you bother as if someone is looking for this TV, then as far as I can see its the best deal going.

Stu, I know and agree with exactly what you have said. If the item listed can be found cheaper then by all means vote cold. If its what the member is looking for and they cant find it cheaper then vote hot. Simple.

Minus 36 degrees with two positive posts............... Why even bother.

If you agree then would you please mind indicating as such in the feedback thread. It's about time this was sorted out as this place is laughable at the moment and people like your good self will stop posting the deals.

I had this tv like 3 months ago and its just awesome...
its very good price for this tv... even at £999 and here this is with Blue ray player which is even better....

£670 for this networking series TV is too good...

I wouldn't personally spend this sort of money on this size TV. However, having said that, the point is whether this TV package is the cheapest around which the point of this website. Without too much research I am confident that this is the cheapest deal at the moment for this package (TV, Blu-Ray, 5 Yr Warranty), thus I would vote hot, for people who are looking to purchase this.

I find it nonsensical people vote cold because the TV is expensive; it's all relative. It is only fair to vote cold if the deal is not the cheapest or the retailer has a poor reputation or the product has inherent defects that renders the price (even if cheap) non-viable.

Most of the problem is that people vote on things they know nothing about, technology items being the worst offenders. Now I know a lot about tech so know good deals and bad deal, but I know nothing about say bottles of wine so I won't go into a wine deal and I won't vote on it, even if the wine is £75 and seems a bit pricy to me, who knows nothing about wines.

The problem is it's far too easy for someone to see a deal like this, know nothing about the tech and think 'ooh, bit pricy' and vote cold.

That's a little misleading on the JL website isn't it. Still a good price for this TV though.

Sony details here - http://www.sony.co.uk/product/t32-nx-series/kdl-40nx703#pageType=ProductBenefits

Good deal but I think the KDL40EX603 for £657 @ Currys (using 6% off discount code) is better especially if you don't need the BluRay player. The specs are virtually the same on both models.

just to clarify, there is a BIG difference between the EX603 and the EX703. the EX603 is essentially a step down from the EX503 (EX603 being only 50Hz instead of 100Hz on the EX503), and the only redeeming factor is the LED edge lighting.

I would seriously consider investing more money, and getting the 40" EX703 at Marks and Spencer for £799, getting the 5 year guarentee and also its 100Hz Motionflow, Presence Sensor and a few other tweaks.

Trust me, its worth the extra £100 from the Currys EX603 deal, and you get the 5 year guarentee.

With regards to the John Lewis deal posted, its good if you need the Blu-Ray player, but for someone like me who has one already, i'd rather pay £799 to Marks and Spencer for the same TV and guarentee!

Its not the same TV though is it. My deal is for a NX703 and your talking about an EX703. The EX is a good TV but not a high a model as the NX (Network) series. For £100 more you get a Blu Ray player and a better TV.

In fact if you want the NX703 from M + S it will cost you £1299. They are doing an offer of £300 of selected Sony TVs which brings it down to £999 with NO blu ray player.

i agree its £999 with no bluray player at M&S.

BUT you need to edit your post dude, because it should either read "NX703 for £999 + bluray" or EX703 for £899 + bluray".

just so you know, the NX703 and NX803 are being replaced very soon with the NX713 and NX813 which is justification for the reduction. But it does beg the question why they are including a WIFI certified + 3D bluray player with a TV that is WIFI certified on its own, and isnt 3D!!!

NX713 and NX813 are 3D Capable just incase people are wondering.

Exleymead, you have confused me (very easy to do!!). My deal is for the NX703 with Blu Ray and 5 yr warranty instore only at John Lewis. I have not mentioned the EX703......... The title is exactly correct.
And yes I did wonder why they were supplying a 3D Blu Ray player with a non 3D TV???
#22
ahh well in that case it is definitely £999 not £899. Just been in my local John Lewis this morning for this very deal and it is £999 nationwide.
#23
Cribbs Causeway branch in Bristol has it for £899, hence my post, in store only.
#24
ahh ok awesome if that is the case, it would appear that it is store specific then.
#25
Just confirmed it with cribbs branch. Ask your local JL to price match.
#26
If your still having problems getting your local John Lewis to price match Cribbs causeway John lewis, Sony Centres are doing the same deal.
