My first post so be kind pls.

I paid £774.95 for this TV with 5 years guarantee from John Lewis.

Deal background:
I was searching for this TV on the internet and found Richer Sounds are selling this tv at price of £749.95 with 12 month guarantee (However It seems to me Richer Sounds have increased the price to £799.95 now). I called John Lewis if they can price match with Richer Sound....

I got a call from John Lewis under sales department that we can price match but you will have to pay competitors delivery charges which is £25 pounds in this case.

Yesterday I went to John Lewis Oxford Street branch and got this tv for £774.95 in total with 5 years guarantee.

I think that all of the new TVs are quite a lot more expensive than they were a few weeks ago, so I think that we need to compare to what we would have to pay today, but bear in mind that things may get cheaper again, perhaps at Easter? I just wish that I had started looking for one before Christmas, I could have had a smashing deal!

It's not what the price was 4 weeks ago that matters - it's what you'd have to pay for it now that's important.

Thanks for posting mane1034.

You're right - they do seem to have gone up. Could be the weakness of the £, but it could also be that prices are artificially high at the moment pending all the Easter 'bargains'.

You can get one for £100 less from beyond television but without the 5 year warranty (i've never got an extended warranty on anything i have bought & nothing has broke yet)

Whether the deal is a day or a week old purely points out that the price is in flux and you should wait to see what happens next .

We got it 2 months ago for £687 from 1staudiovisual

keep waiting and watch that blank space in the corner

re deal: seems alot seeing as i got mine cheaper a couple of months back but as everyone points out, prices have gone up and old stuff is basically irrelevant.
Worth noting that sony write to you if you register to offer a extended guarantee up to 3 years for 50 quid if that allows a cheap no guarantee place.
anyone tried a sonex sony centre lately for these? they were great for cheap deals just before christmas.

I have been following the prices daily of the KDL32w4000 as this is the tv I want to buy (40" to big for my room) and it has fluctuated massively since xmas. However last week i found out that the new range W5500 are about to be released so I would expect that the W4000 range will soon be discounted so it may be worth hanging on a little longer.
