Sony Bravia KDL42W8 LED HD 1080p 3D Smart TV, 42" with Freeview HD & 2x 3D Glasses, Black plus free FREE Sony HT-CT60BT Bluetooth Sound Bar (if purchased before 2359hrs on 24/12/2014).

Just contacted John Lewis and they've agreed to price match Currys. Deal is currently £539.00 for the TV, Sound bar and John Lewis 5 year warranty but they've just confirmed that they'll do it for £509.

When you consider that at Currys you get a standard 1 year warranty and rubbish customer service, this is a fantastic deal!

My enquiry number is CASE-00546452 for anyone that's going to ask them to price match.

Great deal
Alternatively buy from Tesco with the £20 off code and get Quidco/TCB and Clubcard points.

The JL Never Knowingly Undersold promise bugs me as once one person tells them about a cheaper offer, they know and should drop the price for everyone. Although you can't fault the CS, they were brilliant when my Samsung TV packed in under warranty.

I had the 50" version of this delivered yesterday, if you can spare the extra cash and space go for it.
Fair point, however, I've always received great customer service from JL and I'd rather forgo the Club Card points for a guarantee that's not 3rd party.

Good deal though.

i bought this exact set up in march time, paid about £589 from tesco direct. Have to say it's a stunning TV, the picture quality is awesome and the PS4 gaming experience on it is superb. The sound bar is very good but be aware that if you put it directly in front of the tv the bar is slightly too high and blocks the lower 1" of the picture (and the infrared port).
cracking deal - heat from me

Great TV and good price! Bought mine from the outlet at £360 so not for me though :)

Great TV but the bracket is dog poop as you can't properly adjust the tilt, in fact I don't think it can tilt at all.

Price is roughly same as last year's model so I'll just not vote. Thanks though
Just ordered mines. Website says delivery of 30 December 2014, however, i phoned my local store and they've ordered it into the store for 23rd! Gotta love John Lewis customer services! Beat that Tesco!

The big difference with the Pana is the refresh rate of 1200hz. If you check out this link you'll se it's only 100hz (just like the Sony)
Great tv. Got this for £539 recently from JL. Tv picture is great, especially the black levels, really dark blacks for an LCD/LED. Great for gaming (very low input lag) and 3d is decent (passive 3d). Also impressed with playing movies from a hard drive via usb, works flawlessly. Another big bonus for me is that the remote works for the ps4 as a media remote for playback functionality.
