For heavens sake use a credit card if you get this!
#2
Why, is this company dodgy?
#3
Bought from PRC a couple of years ago, no problems with them and better customer service then you would ever get in any of the big electrical retailers.

It's pointless posting stuff like this without any clarification. What's your beef?

I agree with post #2... just to be on the safe side.

Also, don't expect delivery quickly unless you pay for the faster one. It will take them "up to six days to get it out of the door" or so they told me when they tried to "up sell" me the quicker (costed) option.

Oh and be prepared for the call to "check you have the cables you need" (read as: hard sell you an overpriced HDMI cable) and "see if you have the correct delivery method" (course I do, I bloody well chose it on the site)

Oh and thats the other reason they call - to see if you need an extended warranty

Still vague as to why you should pay by CC "to be safe" - I expect most would anyway for an item of this price. But the implication is that there's something dodgy about the company. If there is then maybe you should say so in your posts.

www.7dayshop.com is a huge thorn in the accessories sales of every large Department store that want you to buy a £70 HDMI cable which will work identically to a £5 one.

"Expecting" that people would pay on credit card doesn't mean its not worth mentioning.

Its up to people to do their own research and make an informed decision rather than expect to be spoon fed. As is often the case one person may hate a company that another loves..

Personally I ordered a TV from these but cancelled my order because I changed my mind. So I am not going to come on here and **** them off, I have no reason to... having said that things just weren't as smooth as purchases from say Tesco or Amazon... nothing majorly wrong but there just seem to be a lot of messing about (phone calls to sell me a HDMI cable, faster delivery and extended warranty when I had already had the opportunity to select them when checking out), slow delivery (was told it would be 5-7 working days until it was packed and handed to the courier..

Also have e-mailed them a few times before purchase to enquire about product = no response, e-mailed to confirm cancellation of order = no response...

Got the refund (was quite slow to be credited back) though so as I said no major issues.7

The lack of replies to e-mail concerned me the most, very bad service.

Refresh rate? I suspect it's only 50Hz as they have not listed it!

Bad phrasing on my part, I don't know of the company and with this much money, not using a CC, just seems very careless to me. No beef as you put it...

I was looking at the KDL46W5710 from my locat Cosco, it's about £200 more than this deal, is it significantly better?
#12
using your credit card as opposed to a debit card for a large consumer purchase is just common sense as it gives you extra protection and rights.

W series is certainly better than V.

you can read here

but the summary is
Summary:
1.The Bravia W is above the Bravia V in features and price
2.The Bravia W has the Bravia Engine EX which is an improved version of the Bravia Engine in the Bravia V
3.The W has 24p input capability which is absent in the V
4.The W has a front surround sound system that is not available on the V
5.The V does not have the Theater sync feature present in the W

Also V is 50Hz and W is 100Hz

dang, another almost perfect deal. Has everything I want except a 100Hz refesh rate.

Gutted I missed out on the LG 46" 1080p LCD, 100Hz, inc. Free-sat deal for 599.00 a couple of months ago.

Looks like i'm going to have to wait until after the world cup to find a similar deal.

I hear that as traditional LCD TV manufacturing is being phased out, LED TV prices are going to tumble....Decisions decision!

Will there be bargains to be had after the world cup? to wait or not to wait?

Your views please.

ps. I am well aware of the fact that LED TVs are LCD TVs with a different lighting source. Let's not have that discussion.

Great price, just thought I'd add though,I called PRC up yesterday with regard to another telly they had for sale on website and was informed that they only had the display item left,on their website it also said limited stock next to the one I was enquireing about so might be worth making acall before ordering to make sure these are in stock and not ex-display

There is zero mention on that page of the products being ex-display and/or b-grade if someone calls up and they are, the website should be reported to ASA/Trading Standards for massive misrepresentation as it's as good as me selling 2nd hand goods and claiming BNIB.

Looking at getting one of these myself & all other info seems to say its 100hz

Interesting as sony do not give the refresh rate on their website for this series of models and some less informed retailers are quoting it as 100Hz while others as 50 HZ. If I was buying this TV I would ask PRC to confirm first. Going by the model number V it suggests that it is 50 HZ.

This is 50hz peeps sorry to be the bearer of bad news there is always a catch, u don't get somthing cheap for nothing..............................GET OVER IT
