I have this TV, paid £700 from Argos about 6 months ago *shocking*

I havnt had any problems with it, and picture is brilliant.

Picked up this set when Argos were doing it for £600 (after £50 old TV trade in).

No backlight bleed issues on my TV so I guess it is just the luck of the draw, got to say the picture is superb and I'm very happy with it.

Sony gave £100 cashback when you bought a 40".
That is true, but Argos only gave £50.

Ok, LED technology is simple LCD with a different backlight. you mean OLED tech is worth looking out for.

Also, the bleeding issue is generally with the prerelease models.

AND finally, this TV can be had for 699 at comet, - 100 for trade in. So 599 with the possibility of free delivery. Just enter code "sony100" at the checkout. Plus either 1200 nectar points, or 18 pounds at quidco.
