It's an "ex demonstration model" plus its a HI8 format which is a bit obselete now, not a great deal

Agreed - but just to clarify: Contrary to popular perception, the Digital8 format is not technically inferior to miniDV -- both are identical at the bitstream level. However from a physical medium point of view the miniDV tape is the more recent & prevalent media.

Its not hi8 its digital8 which is as good as any digital format this is a real bargain at £99 if it comes back in stock.

guys i live very close to the hyper-fi store, its not as good as they advertise.

most of these prices they advertise are non-existant if you walk into their store, hence it does say ex-dispaly model on their advertise meaning they only have 1 piece available.

these people should be investigated for mis-advertising and leading people on.

Agreed. I have also visited their shop after seeing an advert, and they have never been available. This is both recently and about five years ago. Their adverts are definitely misleading. Sorry, but voted cold because of the shop. Stay away...

Would be interested to hear from people who have been successful in buying one of their deals.

2 back up what the above 2 posters say, they never have what they advertise left , tho i wouldn't stay away from the shop, they do have a lot of very good deals, just not the advertised ones!

They sell a lot on ebay . I have bought twice from them and have been very happy with price and goods

I actually called the trading standards on them 15 or 20 years ago. Stay well away from these scammers.
