Yeah. Brand names mean nothing in the disc world. Only dependable name is verbatim. You need to know what dyes the disc is made from :)

Agree with both of the above posters I never pay more than equiavalent of 8p on cds and 10p on dvd's the ink dye is the quality factor not the brand. Ok the ones in OP come in cases but they look like the useless slimline affairs, when you can get standard double or single at 12 for a quid makes the deal look poor!
Not entirely cold as they may be suited to someone who only uses blank media once in a blue moon!

EDIT: COLD AS JUST NOTICED THEY ARE ONLY 16x SPEED SO WOULD TAKE THREE TIMES AS LONG TO BURN!!

The Sony ones i have are in full size CD cases.
I have more blank CDs and DVDs than I know what to do with though

With archived data lost on CD-R, I only use the best brands now or used winrar with 2% protection for archival data use. Cheap usually means cheap quality in CD-R and DVD-R world. I think the one of the main causeof problem is the plastic top surface which protects the dye.

The reason id never use recordable media as a sole back up means with imprortant stuff like my kids pictures its a back-up every time I transfer the photo's to my PC then back-up to dvd to keep in my parents safe, to a external drive for our fire safe and upload them to gmail via gspace.

Dunno if its just a generic picture but the case on display is actually a re-writable, hence the x16 speed, as listed cdrs are rarely that slow

Thanks craig-uk, I've always used these with no problems, was looking for a good deal. Heat added.
