The discs might be, but add on the delivery and they're not.
Datawrite Titanium at SVP £8.67

Voted hot, good deal.

when you buy something from the 99p list, I guess :)

I agree this is a good deal. They're great discs, I use them all the time and never once had a coaster and they're long-lasting. Voting hot to try and counteract the cold as I think that's unfair. I always look at deals in terms of shipping included and it's better if you don't have to buy other stuff to get cheaper shipping.

Cheers, I've ordered two packs!
#7
These are a good price considering the svp 99p shipping requires a £30 spend or a purchase of their inferior items in the 99p shipping section.

Good to see play take on SVP, hopefully this will encourge competition and lower prices.

bought some on Sunday and should get them tomorrow... totally forgot about Quidco though (doh!)

Looks a great deal to me, P&P really screws up small orders like this on other sites, so ordering these from Play now.

Cheers,

Seen you post that in two threads now, care to tell us where from? Unless we can all get them at that price then it doesn't exactly make this a cold deal.

Voted hot.

Just about to pay double for similar - cheers v. much!

Wonder what the 100 maxells for £9.99 are like.

I've had Maxell CDR in the past and the lot went in the bin, same for the Sony DVD-R's. Don't know what Sony CDR are like so not going to vote.

Thanks! Voted Hottt!

I almost swear by Maxell, I haven't had a single coaster....I bought them on 3 for 2 at xmas and love them!

Sony CD-Rs are also v.good, I used to use them but now use tdk.

I have used Sony's a lot in the past and they are the only ones I cannot find fault with.

You don't have much luck :-(

I must have had under 10 failed writes in my life and being an IT professional I go through a fair few :? Always used branded discs including Imation, Maxell, Sony, TDK, Verbatim, Samsung, Infiniti etc. Between my last two LG DVDRWs (new one is a SATA to replace the older IDE one) I've never had a failed disc.

Lol. Apart from those mentioned i've not had major problems (well apart from some Datawrite Red DVD-R that were a bit unreliable). I tend to stick with Ridisk/Ridata disks for DVD as I have maybe 1-2/100 coasters. For CDR i've still got a nice stash of black bottom Datawrite stock ;-)

Bear in mind the maxell disks I used was many years ago (maxell XL-74's I think), but as they say 'once bitten'.

Oh and considering the amount of DVD/CD i've actually used over the years, I don't think i'm doing too bad:giggle:

There will always be certain media specific drives don't get on with, too. Always good to bear in mind that what works for some might not work for others.

Yeah, all my failed writes were in the early days, most were on my Samsung CDRW drive.

I honestly haven't gone through that many, maybe 500 CDRs and 100 DVDRs in my time. Plus the CDRWs and DVDRAM discs I used to use for back-ups.
#31
thanks for the tip, i ordered them

I think we're paying for the 'Sony' brand-name, but we can rest assured that they are top quality. I've seen in Pound shops around the country they sell 6 blank CD-R's and they work fine, but here we're getting a named bundle for £5.99. Seems like a fair price to me. Don't forget, Play.com have to make some profit, otherwise they wont be selling things forever!

anyway, original poster, repped and voted hot
#32
Nothing wrong with these, if you got a problem with them then your drives probably knackered...£5.99 for 50 with p&p you got yaself a bargin theere mon...

Just ordered 50 myself....top Bombing..

Whoever voted cold is a ****...

1X-48X don't assume that they will burn at this speed tho just because it says it can on the container.
