Not but I think you're best prioritising spelling lessons first mate.
#5
I didnt realise that these antiques still existed.....what a waste of money?
#6
the kids threw theirs out years ago , not ' cool '.
even mp3 players are kept in the drawer, all their music is on the phone
and Ipod touch
#7
Yes...very "old school"...but yes it's cheap and sony quality
IDEAL for those parents who "just dont get" mp3/ phones etc...
So hot for that reason....
#8
Wow... old now, but I guess if it's something you want, it looks like a good price...

I'd be tempted to spend a little bit more though, go to ebay, and pick up a higher model that plays back CDs filled with mp3 files. That way you can fit 100+ songs on a disc rather than the usual 10 or 15 in an album, and don't have to keep swapping CDs :)

Well if you have lots of CD's and can get an adapter to plug this into the car cigarette lighter and play thru your radio speakers then I'd say it's good for some.
#10
You do all realise that CDs still offer much better quality than MP3s? If you want to listen to music on the go with better quality than MP3s then this is a good buy.

Very very difficult to tell the difference between a 256 Mp3 or OGG and CD, in fact as your CD deteriorates over time I'd take the Mp3.

I guess if you want your kids bullied at school this is a good deal.

I'm afraid I don't see this as hot.
I've bought about six Sony CD players over the past ten years, and never paid more than this anyway.
QD I got a few from for £9.99 but that was a while ago now, probably a year.
I seem to remember Argos selling off some for less than that as well.

I know they aren't current deals, but the fact that this is quite a basic model (I see better models on ebay for around the 9 quid mark - Yes I know this place isnt for ebay deals, but its a good indicator of how much items are worth) makes it quite unremarkable.

Besides, so few people want one.
I only ever see these used with tape adapters in cars.
But even thats getting rarer now in car cd players are dirt cheap.

kids get bullied at school anyway, if they had big nose, small nose, anything!.

everyone still has cds. like if you are at home, you use the radio/cd thing to listen to cds...

Speaking of spelling / grammar lessons, it should read:

"No, but I think you'd be better off prioritising spelling lessons first, mate. " ;-);-)

What a stupd comment to make! I have a friend who has about 10,000 CDs and listens to music all the time. CD Walkmans are perfect for people with large music collections. You think they should all spend years transferring their music onto mp3?

Great price for this.

can you really? :) link doesnt work buddy

nothing wrong with cds, audio quality is better than mp3 anyway

If you own a high quality HiFi System, then it is easy to tell the difference between mp3s and CDs, even if the mp3s are 320kbps.

Having said that the average mp3 player would not really be capable of producing true hifi sound.
The CD Walkman would clearly be able to produce a better sound, but through the average headphones, it would be lost. Also ..... size style and battery life, all go against the CD Walkman and as mentioned already, it's very dated now.

I guess it depends on your budget and what you intend using it for, but if plugged into a decent HiFi, it will produce better results, no question ;-)

"PORTABLE" CD player, having 10,000 cd is not portable in the slightest. There is a reason why mp3 player are widely used nowadays, infact most ppl use their phones.

i can see if now, going for a run with my sony cd playerer haha.

Haven't seen ppl use cd players for a long time..not bad for the price.. if u want something that skips every so often O_o

Old but still a good deal. We still have our Sony CD Walkman from over 15 years ago and it works fine still.

But it's a crappy generic.

my point was cheaper, i wouldnt pay this much for outdated tech.
plus
"Free delivery on orders over £25 when collecting in store (selected stores only)" so you order needs to be over £25 to qaulify for collect in store, or £4.95 delivery charge.

I have quite a few MP3 players, and I must admit for true sound quality the cd walkmans sound fantastic compared to their modern equivalent MP3 players. As for the deal , I am voting neutral as another has said this can commonly be found for around a tenner.
