i am posting this as i just bought one using voucher code INCAR25 which was posted by tara1082 (code can be used on any incar items). You also get the iPOD adapter with item free del as well. Argos had this same model on clearance for £49.99 before without the iPOD adapter which got sold out straight away.

Yes there is new models out for few pounds more but there is not much differance between this one and also u dont get the iPOD adaptor and this one look better in terms of looks maybe. New model are on sony site but i compare them and dont see a big differance in features.

DRIVE-S Chassis for Higher Sound Quality
4 x 50 W S-MOSFET power output

Ordered. Been looking for a cheap sony with Ipod to replace my mp3 player. Cheers

I read reviews of the iPod adapter on Amazon and it was panned. It still sounds like a good deal though.

I’ve never installed a car CD player before. I can get an ISO loom for my car for about £6 and the facia takes regular size units so I’m hoping it’s a simple job to install. Are there any issues I need to watch out for?

dont forget this voucher code for another 5%

YAW734

also i think there is 3.5% quidco?

Apart from needing the extraction tool for your existing head unit, the only other thing I can think of is you may possibly need an adaptor for the ariel connection. Male to female or vice versa. Caught me out once, but its obviously cheap and easy pop one on, but just a pain if you dont have one handy at the time.

hope this helped.

Awesome.
:) ordered using the OP and sfusions codes

3.5% quidco and YAW734 take this effectively to £48.13

I phoned them less than 5 minutes ago to cancel my earlier order and placed another order with the 5% discount added; it took about 5 minutes. Quidco has already tracked for the earlier order.

If you get trouble with the unit not keeping the radio presets then the power leads on the loom will need swapping .They usually have bullet teminals fitted on the 2 cables to allow easy swapping over.
The only other problems would be if your car had a multiplex wiring system ( as fitted on recent Citroens, Peugeots and others ).

I've often used wire coat-hangers cut and bent into a U-shape to remove car stereos - I also ordered this unit yesterday so I'll be brushing up on coat-hanger techniques once more ;-)

I am looking for CAR Mp3 player for some time and decided to go for this. We have a Honda Civic P reg 98 model. Is it possible to replace my existing Cascette player with this myself? could anyone of you give me instructions how to do this?

Curry’s delivered it fairly quickly and I installed it over the weekend. Fortunately the factory installed radio cassette had the correct wiring so I didn’t need to pay for any fittings.
The unit has a protective metal cage over it which you have to remove before installing it. This wasn’t immediately obvious to me as a first time installer so I wondered if I had a non standard facia. It fits but doesn’t want to lock into place although it looks as if it should be a good match. I may need to push the wires at the back further down maybe!

It’s a nice improvement on the cheap factory unit and adds CD support as well as MP3/WMA on CD and more usefully an aux audio input at the front of the unit. It evens has a remote control! Is that for when you are entertaining someone on the back seat and can’t untangle yourself to change track?
I’ve already sold the freebie iPod adapter so after all the discount codes, Quidco and adapter sale the unit has cost me £38 which seems a great deal. Rep added. Thanks.

If anyone is selling the ipod thing please let me know

I was wondering if I could somehow modify the iPod adaptor for use with my Creative Zen player - naturally I'm need a creative connection instead of the iPod connector.

Anybody know anything about this idea? :)

Does anyone else find that it looses the album and track that it was playing (from the I-Pod) when its switched off? Very annoying.

I just read the reviews over at Amazon.com for the adapter and those reviewers found the same problem. So I don't think you can do anything about it - which is what put me off buying one.
