Sony CDX-GT45IP - Car stereo that controls ipod - £64.99 delivered @ Argos ebay outlet !
Having hunted around for a while trying to find a good car stereo that had iPod compatibility (on the back not front), IE one that controls the ipod, not just facilitates playback.... I found the CDX-GT45IP from Sony.
I personally think it's great value at£65 (delivered), the next nearest is around £80 (delivered). Combined with the fact that there aren't that many iPod controlling headunits in this price range (unless you look at some of the really cheap brands).
Anyway; Ipod on the back, Aux on the front, reads mp3 off cd's, and with the right lead (from autoleads) will be controlled by your manufacturer steering wheel controls.

On pg17 of the operating instructions it lists the compatible ipod's. The iPhone isn't listed, but the iPod touch is. A quick google seems to suggest that it would probably be ok.... but who knows.
It does charge the iPod, i checked that one out before i ordered mine. :) (pg12 of the operating instructions)
Lots of Vauxhalls have problems with the ISO connectors, in that they wired the red/yellow the wrong way round (permenant-live/ignition-switched-live)... Which is pretty handy :whistling:
Via the AUX (headphone) socket on the front.
There isn't a usb port on the headunit.
