This is core duo, not core 2 duo (so not so energy saving either). Still a decent spec, but only warm in my book.

Hi, Am confused. Apologies for coming across as being ignorant but are you saying that this is a better deal than a Macbook or not such good value?. I'd understood that Sony VAIO notebook PCs are manufactured by ASUS and they're good aren't they?. Perhaps you're referring to the full price of this product as being expensive without the discount codes am not sure.

Best Regards.

Hi, Some sites are saying that this is a Core 2 Duo and some aren't.
This is confusing. No doubt about that.

Voted hot anyway as I think that Sony VAIOs are well made machines and this isn't a bad price.

Edit: A little less confused now. Did a search on the T2050 and this is a Core Duo processor.
The Bargain Crazy web-site is incorrectly advertising this product as a Core 2 Duo processor
equipped Sony VAIO notebook PC.

http://www.intel.com/products/processor_number/chart/coreduo.htm

Please read paragraph 14 from their terms and conditions of sale as Littlewoods do not like discount codes that have not been issued to customers directly to be used (some work some don't). The one I'd tried 1-2 months ago on a Berghaus fleece applied without any problems at checkout however my credit card was charged full price.

http://www.bargaincrazy.com/epages/Store.sf/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BargainCrazy/Pages/TermsAndConditions

If you use a promotional code to obtain a discount off the price of your order and we later find that the promotional code used had not been issued to you personally, or that you failed to qualify for the code, or that you did not comply with the all the terms of the offer, we shall have the right to reclaim the discount from you.

Regardless of whether an order is accepted they still reserve the right to dishonor discount codes and charge full price. An additional £107.80 more than you're hoping to pay for this product is no doubt a shock where the discount code isn't honored.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.

This is def just a core duo. I was one of the lucky ones who picked one up from empiredirect for £400 a few months ago. I can't tell the difference between the core duo Sony, and my work core 2 duo based laptop in any real world application.

Battery life is a very decent 3 hours (depending on settings of course), the screen is excellent, very well put together for something in the price range and is virtualy silent. Recommended.

The Macbooks are made by ASUS, I was just getting annoyed at a Mac fanboy once again littering a thread about something unrelated.

A Macbook is literally an ASUS PC with a crippled "BIOS". And sold for considerably more than the competition.

Hi Dudley, Thank you for confirming that. Am I right in thinking that ASUS manufacture VAIO notebooks for Sony also?. Hadn't realised that ASUS are the manufacturers of Macbooks but having said that Foxconn manufacture the Mac Mini and iPod for Apple Computer and Mainboards and Cases for Dell Inc (probably manufacture a lot more than this). Hard to know who's made what really.

Best Regards.
