The Sony DSC-W310S is slim and light with smart, easy to use features. With a 12.1 megapixel resolution you’ll be able to capture very high quality images and allow for detail-packed enlargements.

It’s equipped with a Vario-Tessar lens with a 4x zoom range and a 28mm wide angle to cover a wide range of shooting situations. An Intelligent Scene Recognition will simplify your shooting by automatically choosing the best settings for difficult conditions such as twilight portraits and backlit scenes. And for even better image quality Double anti-blur technology will reduce blur caused by shaky hands.

The DSC-W310S also offers clever face detection and a shutter which can be set to fire when it recognises a smile. All this ensures clearer shots of your family and friends whether they’re having a good time or not!

The high sensitivity mode (ISO 3200) allows you to shoot with great results in low-light conditions while Sony’s Clear RAW noise reduction image processing technology helps suppress the colour noise that can accompany high-sensitivity shooting.

A 2.7 inch Clear Photo LCD screen allows you to frame and review your shots with a wide viewing angle. And it’s easy to get up and running using the Easy Shooting mode which offers fuss-free operation for beginners with simplified controls and easy-to-read on-screen instructions.

M+S dropped the price to £71, then when you checked out it took a further £40 off the price, needless to say they were gone pretty quick

Why do Sony still want to stick to MemoryStick! Would've bought this if it wasn't for the MemoryStick.

Listen up Sony - SD is the new standard, you lost a lot of sales on your CD players because of supporting ATRAC only discs. Now you're doing it all again.

John Lewis doesn't seem to think so, can you confirm please?

My camera is the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W310 (no S). It's in black not silver but appears to have the same spec.
The door on its base for accessing the battery and memory states "SD".
It also TAKES an SD card...;)
So, maybe not if the S is a model up the range.

Spec here
