Looks like a decent deal. I just paid the same for the Canon MD101. Hope this isn't much better.

This Sony doesn't do 16:9 (which I think is pretty much obligatory in the space year 2007), but your Canon according to the specs, does :thumbsup: and it's only £150.50 from Amazon.

Any recommendations on this or possible alternatives? This is around my budget.

I have a baby on the way and will need to capture all those little moments to shame him/her with in the future...

Are you sure that isn't letterbox/zoom mode that simply crops a 4:3 CCD?

Sony.co.uk's spec sheet says it doesn't do 16:9 Wide (Full) recording, the 4:3 LCD display on the unit seems to suggest that.
