ERRRR NO it was the DCR- HC53 if you look sorry
#7
Looks like this doesn't record in widescreen though, which is a shame. Then again what do you expect for £109.
#8
If anyone has this model then can you tell me if when you record a quite scene do you hear the motor noise on the recording? The HC53 model from Asda does record the motor noise which can be heard when playing back your footage.

Thanks.

this is about the standard price now for a mini-dv camcorder , with some places going sub £100 for similar
just when its reduced from the original price it looks a better deal when its not really
#10
is this actually a really good cam corder?

This is a really quiet camera.

I bought this for £110 from Pixmania 11 months ago so this was too high a price in the first place. Not voted as it is a good camera for the price but it isn't really a good deal, standard price I would think.

MiniDV produces the highest quality pictures because there is less compression then with camcorders that use SD cards or hard drives.

The transfered footage is easier to edit on a computer than the AVCHD format used in non-MiniDV camcorders.

Finally, you always have a backup on tape in case anything goes wrong with your computer.

Yes, Mini-DV produces far superiour pictures/audio to 'flash' and hard drive based systems.
However, there are more meechanical bits to wear out/break so it's horses for courses.
The fact that Mini-DV is used for semi-professional work must tell you something. (The 'big brother' format DV is used for Professional work)

Perfect timing. Just what I need.
1 ordered.

Do not hurry to buy. It is an outdated model and is available same price or even cheaper if you look well on the internet.
BTW, this 'deal of the day' has been 'on' on bargaincrazy for many days now :)

I've recently pick up a DCR-HC53E in Adsa for £30 reduce from £60 but thought it was so cheap because min dv was now dead.

This deal does not appear to have expired. Think I might cancel my order.

Also this at Asda HC53 for £104 delivered.

Asda has Sony DCR- HC53 and Bargain Crazy one is Sony DCR-HC37E - Any idea what’s the different between the two.

Not good in camcorders - 1st time buying.

Thanks

Just got mine delivered from Bargain Crazy.

I also had the HC53 from Asda as well. They are exactly the same camcorder except the one from Asda has more of the silver on the body whereas this has a bit more of the grey plastic trim as well.

They work in exactly the same way as each other and both have a little bit of the tape transport noise recoded onto quite scenes.

Excellent camcorders and great value. Also, the Asda one does tend to come back into stock so keep checking if you want to save a tenner.
