SONY DCRHC24 Digital Camcorder only £149.99 instore at Sainsburys

Discontinued model, but still about £50 cheaper than elsewhere.

Had a large promotional display stand near customer services with DVD box purchase token - take to customer services.

Also had Sony Digicams reduced down to £65, think it was the S600 model, but not sure.

Plenty of both instock at Aylesford branch

SONY DCRHC24

It is incredibly easy to use with a large Touch panel on the camcorder LCD screen, allowing you to easily select the filming mode of your choice and even view the remaining battery levels.

In addition, Sony has thoughtfully added Start/Stop and Zoom buttons on the frame of the LCD screen itself so that you dont have to take your eye off the action or obstruct the screen to operate these functions.

Looks great! But it may be best to look at some reviews about this product to avoid disappointment:

:giggle: This is just what I scan Hot Deals Uk for!

I've been looking for this since the model was featured on the gadget show in Dec 06, and was rated as coming out best against the Canon MV890 as entry level camcorders

See http://gadgetshow.five.tv/jsp/5gsmain.jsp?lnk=401&featureid=273&show=s5e12§ion=Consumer

My local Sainsbury (London E6) had 2 (now only 1) and for £149 I think is an absolute bargain, so very many thanks for the post.

I just bagged one of the few remaining HC44's at Argos for £220 and thought that was a good deal. Wish I'd waited a few days!! :-(

Perfect for me; cheap & simple to use as I don't need it for anything fancy as well as being a good brand. Plenty left in Stanmore/London Sainsburys. Went onto Amazon and ordered a 10 pack of 60 min 'miniDV Premium' for only £10.75 - Many thanks OP:thumbsup:

It has 16:9 listed in the specifications….does that not mean it does widescreen? :?

Here’s a link to the specifications:

According to Sony website it has 16:9 Wide (Full) Recording, which I think means it adds bars top & bottom to simulate widescreen. The HC44 has 16:9 Wide (True) and the LCD to go with it.
But at this price I ain't too concerned.

I bought this camcorder just over a week ago from Sainsburys for £149.99. It has the option to record in 4:3 or 16:9 widescreen format. Great budget camcorder. The lcd touch screen is especially useful.

Here's a link for cheap mini dv tapes.

Ordered some tapes on the Sunday evening. Received Tuesday morning. Really pleased with the quick turn a round.
