these are cheaper on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DVD-R-16X-Speed-spindle/dp/B000EDM9V6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=officeproduct&qid=1245196454&sr=8-3
however you can get100 maxell dvds for £12.99 http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5319074/Maxell-DVD-R-16x-100-Discs-Carry-Pack/Product.html
you can even get 100 discs cheaper at maplins.
buying sony discs doesnt necessarily gaurantee you qaulity. it depends on the ink dye used. when it comes to discs i think TDK and verbatim are better than sony.

It must be past your bed time if you think these are a good buy you can buy 100 Verbs the Verbs that are made in the far east are a Taiyo yuden dye or TDK for half the price of these or some Taiyo yuden originals so its you that knows nothing about blank media.

Ive been using the maxell ones from play for around £13 per100 for the last 6months and they have been great i use to use the Verbs but some one gave me a 100 maxell and they worked just aswell but where cheaper.

I've had some dodgy Verbs recently and I don't like DWs (DataWrites) espcially the yellow ones

I reckon TDK are best

i stilll have a pack phillips dvd-rw from svp that got spotted here. good retailer! i wander if the free delivery code still works.
#13
Come with a free DVD burner?!?

Heheh!!!
#14
I may be a little confused by all this, but am I right that this is one of those rare occasions where someone adds a deal they have found because it appears very expensive and therefore must be very good?
#15
these are quite cheap excluding the delivery charge http://www.svp.co.uk/consumables/blank-dvdr/dvd-r-non-printable/16x-above-speed-rating/bulkpaq-orange-16x-dvd-r-bulkpaq057_spindle-tub-of-50.html
shame the free delivery code freesvp doesnt work anymore

as i mentioned earlier the qaulity of the discs depends on the ink dye. taiyo yuden, verbatim and cmc are good ink dye brands. good disc brands are taiyo yuden, tdk and verbatim etc etc. if its a bad disc it usually throws an error and fails to burn. my advice is if u used a cheap brand of disc and you havent had problems with it since then you should stick to them.

I purchased the same discs for £7.99!

http://i44.tinypic.com/bgnqqh.jpg

I had a £10 voucher but why are they now £32.99? Was I lucky they were £17.99 when I bought them?

I thought the price was normal for 100 high quality DVD-Rs.

There's 2 types of verbs 1 that's made in the far east i cant remember exactly where and have a ****** orange brown label these are yudens and then there's the normal blue pack that are made in India which are a not so good disc which people have reported problems with which is probably the ones you copped for when ever you buy verbs check the label for the country they where made if its India give them a wide birth.

As Ive said Ive been using the maxell and they have been great not one coaster but the TDK are a good quality disc and last time i ordered the maxell from play i nearly got me some TDK the only thing that stopped me where they where out of stock.

People that drive Bentleys didnt get them buy paying well over the odds for stuff. In the world of blank media sony are not one of the top names infact i dont know anyone that buys or has bought them these sony disc are the sort they sell in the supermarkets in fact the sell them in my local tesco £13.99 for 50 they are the discs that people who know nothing about discs or pc's pick up while doing there shopping because the need some discs and see the name sony and assume that because they are sony they are a good disc its badge snobbery.

I think his posts have already answered that question :-D

In my opinion (understand MY OPINION) you can not beat Traxdata Ritek G05 dye, £13 - 100 at local Computer Fair.

Think it may be another advertising mistake by Play.com, the disc's for sale are Sony DMR 120 DVD-R discs but the description and specs are for Sony DMR 47 DVD-R disc's.
#29
This is all very jolly...

At the end of the day, it's a turd of a deal - temperature shows that - for 100 DVDs no matter how good. Sorry op, just stating fact!
