They almost seem a little too cheap, although they are just under the vat threshold so that may be the key.

Ah the transmitter just adds BT to the ipod. I must learn to read everything, but it is nearly 3am. Time to watch the Olympics I think!

That's why I did the screen grab. Not many people will see the post this early in the morning so they may put the price up before morning?. As I said above though, they are just under vat threshold.

but what about this: "Transmitter power supplied from iPod" - isn't the connector on the adapter iPod specific?

What wozza was getting at was that the headphones have A2DP and so you will be able to use the phones with any A2DP device, which is pretty much all mobile phones. Apple is lazy and paranoid and none of their devices are A2DP enabled, which is why you need this adaptor, which is iProduct specific and will not work with any other brand (unless they have exactly the same connector...).

I was lucky enough to pick up the Sony walkman BT adaptor from Heathrow airport Dixons for £8.50.

I'll just sell the Ipod adaptor to my friend who has a BT car radio.
#21
I can't believe the price. The adaptor is worth £42.95 alone. http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/5985775/Sony-TMRBT81P-iPod-Bluetooth-Adaptor/Product.html?cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Electronics-_-iPod+Accessories-_-Sony%2BTMRBT81P%2BiPod%2BBluetooth%2BAdaptor&source=5065&engine=froogle_electronics&keyword=Sony+TMRBT81P+iPod+Bluetooth+Adaptor[/url]
I got this adapter when I was back in the states 6 months ago and it cost me $70. It works only for the ipod and uses little power. It fits securely into the ipod unlike similar products. Very good stereo quality too.
#22
Hot, been after a pair of these at the right price for a while. Although seeing as it is play, I'm not getting my hopes up too much as if it is a misprice they dont tend to honour them. :(
#23
does any1 know if the samsung sould has A2DP? (what ever that is)
#24
Does anyone know if you can do any other cool tricks with the bluetooth adapter? sync via bluetooth etc... (not that I'd want to...it would be slow as hell)

Just wondering...
#25
^ So basicially you can simultaneously pair it up with your phone too. When you listen to your ipod, if you get a call through it will cut the music and will ring in your ear to tell you to answer it by pressing the answer button on the bluetooth headset. You can also pair the headphones with your computer which will allow you to listen to music from a distance of upto 10m.
#26
Can these be used as wireless PC headphones?

ie if I plug them into my sound card?
#27
Will these work with a PS3?

They look good and have a microphone as well.

From what people are saying, the Bluetooth adapter is only designed to fit iPods.
#30
Won't work with a PS3 as it doesn't have A2DP.

Not too sure if the microphone will work with an iPhone though, the manual which you can download has no mention of iPhone or iTouch compatibility.

Just ordered:thumbsup: a pair excellent price if not a mis price, hope play honour it :whistling:

Correct, but what people seem to be missing is that if the device is already BT enabled, then the phones will work as you won't need the adaptor and the phones have a BT receiver built in...

Doesn't need to have A2DP. You will still be able to pair the phones, but you will only get mono sound, and not very good mono sound at that...

I was wondering about the iPhone(y) also as I am most annoyed about Apple's somewhat baffling decision not to enable A2DP in the BT stack...

One of the reviews about the iPhone:

"I've been researching bluetooth headphones for my iPhone for a couple of weeks. Many say they support the iPod but say nothing about the iPhone. These didn't either but I figured I would take a chance. When I got them home, I plugged the dongle in and amessage appeared on my iPhone about an unsupported device being pluged into the iPhone. But when I went to my music and started it playing, it worked flawlessly and the sound is excellent. I highly recommend this as a iPhone accessory."

Very tempted by these, but shame it only supports my iPOD otherwise I wouldn't hesitate.
