I bought a pair of these a couple of weeks ago, from a forum deal, price was about £22.50 delivered, worth every penny!

They have superb battery life and great sound quality, the only bad thing might be the weight, slightly on the heavy side...

2 other models available.

Just a word to any Mac users out there - stereo bluetooth headphones won't work as promised on a Mac. They will still play the music, but its likely to be mono and with a very limited frequency. This is because OSX 10.4 doesn't support A2DP, which is the technology used for stereo bluetooth.

There's an unofficial quite technical fix for it at http://david.connolly.name/blog/hub/mac/2007/02/23/Stereo-Bluetooth-Profile-A2DP-on-Mac-OS-X-Tiger.html

However, the next release of OSX, 10.5, will definitely have full support for A2DP. 10.5 will most likely be coming out in July or August, but if you're adventurous you might be able to find a developer preview edition floating around somewhere!

which one of these has the best specs???
also what is the difference between the other 2?
i cant really see much of a difference...
#4
Do these headphones come with some sort of dongle that you can plug into a headphone jack? So for example can you use these with an ipod?

No don't think they do, read it somewhere before... i ain't too sure about the Sony DR-BT30Q but the other two definitely don't.

Yeh, I have to agree with this, I first used it on a mac and it was terrible. However the PC is great quality, it even has skip pause and volume controls on the headphones which work with winamp and most phones and windows media player 11.

The controls dont seem to work with Itunes mind you.

hope these are still in stock on monday!!
#8
Which of the 3 would you guys recommend? I wanna buy one, but can't see the difference other than style. I.E. Which is most comfortable?
#9
i have the ones in the deal, and they are a very good sound quality, but a wee bit too heavy. You do get used to wearing them, but you coudnt go jogging in them, too wobbly. They do hurt my ears if I wear them for a couple of hours, but the size of them is fantastic and they are the most compact, in that they dont have a remote or cables to carry around.

the other 2 models are very similar if I remember.
#10
Hmm, sounds painful :(. I'll consider over that one then.
#11
the Sony DR-BT20NX looks the better of the 2 in ear ones IMO
#12
I seem to remember that the only difference between 10 and 20 is that bit:
"Capable of remote function for basic playback features" for the 20
So the 10 model is basically the same without the remote functions.

As for comparing the 20 and 30, if I understand well, they have exactly the same features but in different form factors, whichever is more suitable for you.

FYI you can refer to that older thread where a lot of things have been discussed already:

Very nice deal though, I think this time I'll treat myself...

small video clip of the headphones!

I bought all 3 sets when they were on sale over on mymemory.com

I deffo rank the Sony DR-BT20NX as the best.
I use them on my Nokia N95 and they work a dream (also the fact the remote is compatible with the N95 is awsome!)

Reasons i chose the Sony DR-BT20NX as the winner is because of remote, also is good for jogging with the neck strap. whilst the Sony DR-BT30Q also has a remote i dont like the way they lay on your ears (kinda hang there) also to get music at a decent level means everyone around you can hear them (partly down to they hang there and are not tightly cupper around your ears.
The Sony DR-BT10CX is basically the Sony DR-BT20NX without remote, instead of neck strap on a clip (which bounces off when running!)
#15
I'd also rate the DR-BT20's as the best of the 3 :)

Also, has anyone noticed how play have included a hell of a lot of phones that don't have A2DP in the compatibility list?
#16
has anyone noticed that they range on these are not as great?

Even at a pretty short distance I do get some stuttering. 20's

I bought mine at mymemory lol and paid more for these... boy are theyse going down in price!
#17
The price is falling, but it's probably just a sign that Sony are prepping a new release of these. I noticed that the Tesco Direct catalogue has the 30's for £99.99!

Yeah, the range isn't cracking on these. If I have my phone in my pocket, and the headphones are under my coat I get stuttering unless I shift the receiver across my chest in-line with the phone.
#18
I am planning to buy these but only for voice chat on skype.Has any one used these for voice chat on PC?Not too sure about the range.Havent been able to make up my mind for this reason
#19
Does anyone know which ones would be best for use as a BT headset in-car?

The stuttering will have something to do with the phone more than the headphones I think, or maybe outside interference. When using these headphones with my computer I get range of about 5 meters through a door/wall as well that is.

Sony is replacing this range with these http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/STGCS5/3-/3317791/Sony_DR_BT21G_Stereo_Bluetooth_Headphones/Product.html

The look mighty good if you ask me, but think I will wait til they fall in price.
#21
I am very interested in buy these but have seen that these are not compatible with my N73. I also have an Acer Laptop with bluetooth (the Aspire 5685 comet one) and would like to use them on it.

So will they work at all with either of these?

If you look at this page

You will see that the specs are no better, they are the same.

I really don't think these things are supposed to be going out the door at £17.99 a pop guys.

See here: http://play.com/Search.aspx?searchtype=allproducts&searchstring=sony+bluetooth+headphones&page=search&pa=search

Apart from the category listing they are the very same products at very different prices!

Get in on the action before they figure it out! :-D

I looked at this post 2 weeks ago. It says it's expired but when i check the website they were still the same price!!!!

Phoned them up just to make sure it wasn't a mistake on their site but the girl i spoke with said it was correct. Placed my order for the DR-BT20NX and they arrived the next day:-D .

Must say i cant fault them the sound quality is excellent and they're very comfortable. I found i get ear ache from the over ear jobbies.
#28
Are these just for listening to music on a mobile phone or can thay be used to talk on a mobile phone or just for listening

These can be used for both talking and listening to music on your phone.

They will work on any phone with bluetooth if you only need to talk, however if you want stereo music like mp3's then you will need to make sure that your phone has A2DP.

most very new phones do include this, but not low end ones.
#30
The Sony DR-BT20NX Bluetooth Stereo Headphones states that it works with a Sony Eriksson k750i I aasume that is just for talking.

Will it also be compatable for music with the above phone?
#31
thanks for that

i could'nt see the bit were you talk into it

i was going to get them for my brother for his birthday but btter find out if his phone has got a2dp on it
#32
will these work with my MDA compact 2?
#33
ordered mine this morning!

Thanks
#34
received mine today, just home from work and i do like the look of them. got them on charge, cant wait to use em
#35
Got mine today as well. Music cannot be streamed on a k7501 or a w810i :(
#36
Oh no. That means that it won't work with my k608i which is older than the phones mentioned (was this close to buying it). Well, it will, but can't play music as it cannot be streamed :(
#37
well does this mean it can stream music at all i have a se v630i.
thanks its the diffrence frm gettin one and not lol
#38
Gah!

I am so torn between the 20's and 30's! On the one hand I want something compact and simple, the ear mounted controls and retractable cable really appeal in favour of the 30's.

But the in-ear buds on the 20's will likely offer greater clarity of audio... with less weight... however, all the weight saved in the ears is left dangling around your neck, which is cumbersome... and kind of defeats the object of using a cable free headset in my opinion. Because technically it's not.

What's a boy to do?! :-D

Also, more pictures of both the 20's and 30's from different angles would be greatly appreciated from members who've already splurged on either set. I'm yet to see a shot of the 30's from the business end, as I've only found shots of the fascias.

All thoughts and shots appreciated.

Tried the 20's last night. There is no weight in the remote and it is really small. The clarity is really clear and the distance is good, I was in the living room and the phone was in the bedroom and even with doors closed the reception was great.

My only regret was the lack of music streaming on a k750i or a w810i, unless I'm doing something wrong?
