Just got a pink one for the other half.
Tried using the free delivery codes but it wasn't having it.
£5.80 for next day seems reasonable to me though.

thats why i would not get it if a camera needs batterys it tells me somet!;-)

AA batteries do not last long in cameras, worth paying out for a lithium ion rechargeable, cheapest camera that has one of decent spec is the nikon coolpix s220 but then again it's £79.97, which im probably buying as a present today as tesco direct will give free delivery arrive tomorrow, i will vote hot because you wont get this camera cheaper elsewhere.
#8
Anyone know what/where is the cheapest Sony camera with the Lithium Battery?
[mod]#9
Just use eneloop AA's and you will be suprised how long they last.

Sanyo Eneloop AA rechargables are pretty decent.

sonys have never used sd cards so your complaint is a bit pointless - i prefer the pro duo never had one stop working or freeze on me

i have had 5 or 6 sd cards refrain from working and have to be reformatted

voted hot for awesome deal but think i will plump for the W210

Apparently you get about 50-60 photos before you batteries run out, less if you use flash. decent camera for £60.

I had a play about with one at work and its not that good really but we are selling them for £80.

I think I saw them on Amazon the other day for around £54.
#16
You'll get more photos with Sanyo Eneloop batteries. Over 100.
#17
Hi, it is a good price, I even reserved for pick up the pink for my wife, then cancelled after checking the price of memory stick pro duo cards, and the AA battery fact.
Good price, but the other bits stopped me in the end. Hot for the price, sony is a decent brand.
#18
Yep, buy a Sony and you're stuck with VERY expensive MemoryStick.

Avoid!

thats not true

just last week someone posted this deal:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/518335/sandisk-memory-stick-pro-duo-7daysh

i got a 4 gb

not as cheap as an SD but much better and reliable.

mediocre camera - limited by the battery, memory stick restriction and average pic quality - for £60 the price is right; i vote warm.
It should not sell for more than that nowadays.
#21
I prefer cameras with normal AA's as you can always pick up some batteries when out and about if they go flat. Also I use some 2500mah rechargeable batteries in my Fuji Finepix and they last a good 800 photos between charges.
#22
Also this camera is available elsewehere for £60 - £70 so think it's a bit rich that Argos are advertising it as having £40 off. That may be the case off its original price, but that would have been a while ago.

I got a sony W180(new in box still sealed) for £51 quid off the bay sent from uk that has lith battery but they are normally around £90
#24
I could've really done with this as my last Sony camera has died on me but I don't like aa batteries in cameras.
#25
Voted Hot...just reserved pink one at Wolves..

Don't let the whole Pro Duo memory thing put you off.

You can get a MicroSD -> Pro Duo adaptor here from Deal Extreme for $2.

I haven't tried this but remember looking a few months ago and being very impressed. Means you can buy cheap SD cards and use them in your Sony gear. Gonna get a couple for my PSP and camera I think.

Exactly. The people moaning about AAs are using rubbish ones.

I've always had AA powered cameras - I've used good nimh rechargables and they've been great - especially the eneloop type with 300+ shots on a charge.
I've just got a Panny FZ38 with it's lion battery it's very light and the flash is so much faster - in my experience an AA powered camera just can't compete.

That said lion rechargable cameras are almost always more expensive (once you've bought a spare battery) - even more so with the later Panasonic models that prevent you using 'compatible' batteries.

Does anyone have this? The reviews are a bit so-so. Not too bothered about features, as long as the pics it takes are good. Thanks
#32
I'm sure it will take good pictures, most cameras do these days.

Sony 8GB Pro Duo Memory Stick (Mark 2) - £24.99 @ Play
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/5172887/Sony-8GB-Pro-Duo-Memory-Stick/Product.html

Minimum write speed - 15 MB/s

Useful for recording hd movies/continuous shooting/RAW mode - compacts won't benefit but will be handy if you upgrade or own a slr

Sd cards seem like a bargain but you can't compare class 2 cards (2 MB/s) to this

A faster card will also transfer files from camera to pc quicker
