Excellent post mate and thanks voted HOT HOT HOT

Got one.

Voted Hot Hot Hot.
Wish I had the chance to vote triple hot.

A cracker of a deal. Am real surprised that this has still not gone onto the front page. Once it is moved to the front page, I suppose it would reach a heat of 300 or 500 in very short time.

Lets see. Fingers Crossed.

GREAT deal - i baught the T-10 a few months ago for £170ish...

Excellent price. The new T series models are coming in now so this may be limited stock. I have a T10 and bought it for £190. Get this quick.

Great price for this and great camera. Mine cost over £100 more, only last September.
#7
This the really thin one?

This the really thin one?

It is not the thinnest Sony T-series camera, the T7 was a lot thinner, but that is an old model now

Great deal, voted HOT!
Quidco for an extra 3.5% back

Great price - voted hot.
Just ordered the t100 though for £215.43 (obviously overpriced as its freezing in my post about it!) for the face recognition and 5x optical zoom

Would be interested to know what you think of the T100...

Like the idea of the T30 - but I have loads of SD cards ! I tried a T range camera on hols and I found it difficult to handle (Steve digicams says the same thing. ) Anybody road tested the T30 ? Image quality ?

I have used the T30 for over 6 months and I'm very happy with both the ease or use and moreover the picture (and video) quality.

I went for this offer and voted HOT!

Been on the lookout for a Dig Camera for ages ...... finally I could not resist temptation no longer.

Only concern is the Memory Stick Duo as the media card type - any good offers out there..... looking for a deal around £20 inc del!!

go for this memory stick for under 20 pounds. http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/880390/SanDisk_Mobile_Memory_Stick_PRO_Duo_2GB/Product.html p.s this camera is excellent.

Thanks craig-uk I am sure that your post will help others too!

I have never owned a digital camera before, this is all new to me

Been having a nose around the play.com website and found
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/880408/SanDisk_Gaming_Memory_Stick_PRO_Duo_2GB/Product.html

Is this card similar as the one craig-uk recommended - I dig the transparent colour but why is the RRP so much higher if they are now both being sold for £17.99:?:

both do the same thing go for either one.

Cheers AnywhereButHere, went for one.

Been looking at the slightly smaller T-10 for a while, but noticed in the specs that the T-30 uses the same battery as my old P-150. As I've got 4 spare batteries it was the clincher for me (as I really shouldn't be buying another digicam).

Ask Harry Hill ;-)

The T50 and the T100 are better cameras - the reason this T30 is cheap is because it has been superseded and is an old model. !
#24
What made me buy was the 3 inch screen and the Sony brand which should be a safe bet for a 1st time digital camera buyer like me.

I have never seen a 3 inch screen at a price point below £200 on a digital camera, if there has been I have missed it  and that is why I jumped at this offer.
#25
You can compare this camera with the rest of this slimline series here:
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/CompareProducts.action?site=odw_en_GB&pcReturnUrl=%2Fproduct%2FProductComparisonWizard.action%3Fsite%3Dodw_en_GB%26sectiontype%3DProduct%26deepestLevelCategoryId%3D%252FDigital%2BPhotography%252FDPH%2BDigital%2BCompact%2BCameras%2B-%2BCyber-shot%252FDCC%2BDigital%2BStill%2BCameras&models=DSC-T100&models=DSC-T20&models=DSC-T50&models=DSC-T10&models=DSC-T30

I would have liked one of the newer models with face detection but they are far more expensive. As I said, I chose the T-30 because (obviously price) it takes the same battery as my old Sony P-150 and comes with an external charger, which is very useful to me. It also purports to give you 420 shots per battery charge over the T-10's 250. It has a bigger screen than the T-10, but is also slightly chunkier. Apart from that there seems to be little difference in the specs.

The dearer T-50 is pretty much identical to the T-30 apart from the touch screen.

I was actually looking to buy the new Finepix z5, but at this price the T-30 is a definite billy bargain

SirHugo

One other difference that I have read about, but don't completely understand is:

Noise reduction (in the T50) has also been adjusted, and now operates at exposures 1/6th of a second or longer (formerly
for the T30 this was 1/25th of a second or longer)

Figured it has something to do with low ambient light shooting.

Just ordered one and got the following email reply

We are sorry, but one or all of the products you have selected has
become temporarily out of stock in your area. A Specialist will contact you
by telephone within 24 hours to discuss either the date your product is
due into our warehouse, or offer you an alternative product.

Does this mean im not going to get it, or that it will come back in, has anyone had the same or the same over other items?
#28
Yep just tried to order and its out of stock in my area..
#29
I guess they don't have a live stock system .... not cool in my opinion - Comet should let you know it is out of stock at the point of sale, most retailers do. :x

I have no doubt Sony make terrific cameras but Sanyo produces the E6 ad E60 with 3 inch screens at good prices.
Sanyo are infact major players and developers of digicams and closely linked with Sony. They are using Minolta lens and deliver great pics !
#31
Oh, jeez, this is fantastic.

I bought the Sony T9 (same sort of model) for £150 last year, but it suffers badly from not having image-stablizing - which this model does.

If you're in the market for a new digital camera, don't think twice.
Get this camera !!

Looks like the order will still be honoured, just had a phone call saying that they are out of stock but are expecting more in...watch this space
#33
Think this has expired as the link is no longer working.

The camera is no longer on Comet's website either.

I called up to change my delivery date and got told that they have none in stock...didnt receive an email telling me or anything - order had gone through as normal. Also got told they do not know when they are expecting any more in. So cancelled order

Anyone else know where to get this camera cheap - saw the other deal advertised but one of these slim sonys.

I have t-50. just like t-30. the only thing different is t-50's screen is touch panel. and I must say pictures' quality are very good. also the battery last very long as well.
#36
for info, mine arrived at 8.30 this morning, just in case anyone was fearing that it was all a ruse. the battery's on charge at the mo so i can't comment further...
#37
looks like the offers back on again.... not sure how long though
