Its a reasonable price, but as usual don't believe the old price! Been around 120 quid for a while. Still hot for the price though
#2
Yeah think they're quoting the original RRP or something. Thank you for the thumbs up.

Good deal I think, Jessops have the W210 at £99 but you can get 5% off with JESSOPS5 and there could also be 8% Quidco. Is there much difference between the W210 and W215?

That's what I'm wondering too.

I think the W215 and W210 are the same camera so went for the the Jessops W210. Using the code I paid £94.05 and Quidco is tracking £11 something. Also, if you collect they let you buy a case for half price so added a leather lowepro case for £10.

Had a quick play with it and yes I would recoend it, you will struggle to get a better camera for this money. However, for a little bit more you could have the Fuji F72EXR (same as the F70EXR) from Jessops which is in a completely different league, here is how the deal works;

Current list price is £169.00 -5% using code "JESSOPS5" = £160.55 - £30 cashback from Fuji - 8% Quidco = £11.16 = £119.39.

Yes I agree the Fuji is such a bargain at this price and the attached review is impressive

Im pretty sure that the W215 is the exact same thing as W210 but in black and comes with a free case in the box. W215 is the model Comet sell. No one else sells the W215. Believe they do it to create confusion and prevent people easily comparing prices on the same model!

Thank you to everyone who has voted this hot. I hope you all enjoy using your new camera.

Hot for the price BUT in my opinion the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS8 that Comet is selling for £110 (£107 after quidco) is a better option, and it also includes a case inside. It's essentially the same camera as the DMC-FS7, which gets favourable reviews. The Panasonic produces very decent images even in low light. Unlike the Sony, it has a movie mode (though not HD obviously), allows continuous shooting, and has quite a few more shooting modes.

I'd be interested to hear this too, I'm after a small camera no more than 120 ish which has decent optical zoom and that one sounds good...

Download the cashback form from the jessops site, fill it in, send it off with your proof of purchase and jobs done.

Anyone know if the Canon Powershot SX200 IS compares well to the Fuji?

Apols for hijacking the thread, voted hot by the way..

The F70EXR is a superb camera, especially at low light. An alternative is the F200EXR for £135 as posted by deva123: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/566639/finepix-f200-exr-135-99-code-cheape

Some posters on photography forums have complained that the F70EXR may suffer from fuzziness/purple fringing at wide angles, whereas the F200EXR doesn't appear to suffer the problem to the same extent. But the F200EXR only has 5x zoom
#22
does this have a wide angle lense?

does this have a wide angle lense?

30mm wide-angle Carl Zeiss lens - which is fairly wide; 28mm was a common wide angle lens on 35mm cameras.

This sounds like a good camera but AFAIK can only take memory stick which puts me off.

Now that is a difficult question to answer, this review may help; http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/q209grouplongzoom/

The Canon comes out well but is edged out by the by the Panasonic TZ7/ZS3. If cost is not an issue run to the nearest camera shop an buy a TZ7. I have just come back from California and Mexico and hardly bothered with my Pentax K20D DSLR as the TZ7 is that good I did not feel the need to get the DSLR out.

HOWEVER, the F70EXR / F72EXR (same camera) is a VERY fine camera and dirt cheap compared to the TZ7 and SX200. The Fuji also has the edge over the competition in low light.

Hope my ramblings help

I would second this, having looked for a while i bought the FS8 from comet you get the leather case and the reviews always put the lumix above the sony. Having used it all i can say is it is superb, using inteligent auto alway gives good results which is something i have never had before cameras at this price point.

The video mode is really good as well just check out my vid the daughter took on xmas day

Shoot out against w210 vs fs7
http://www.cameras.co.uk/comparisons/panasonic-dmc-fs7-sony-dsc-w210.cfm

The Sony should be good, but the Panny has the edge.

yeah, i really want one of those.. cheapest reatailer i would trust is amazon for £237, but im still going to hold out for a while as there is none currently in the sales. im hoping for around £199 delivered

just reserved F72 EXR for £155.48 using cameras8 code, u also get Free CAMLINK Camera Cleaning Kit.
quidco is tracked 10.81.
Cash Back £30 so Final price would be
155.48 - 40.81 = £115

I don't see them going down to 199 until the next version comes out, why drop the price when they are so hot?

Why not try a Fuji F72EXR, it really is a fantastic deal at under£120, I don't think you will be appointed.

Buy Sony and you're stuck with mega-expensive MemoryStick memory.

With so many good alternatives out there using SD cards that alone is reason not to buy this or any other Sony. Personally I'd go Panasonic every time.

I too had reservations about the Sony MS prices, but you can pick up a MicroSD -> MS Pro Duo adapter for about £3 online

Must admit, that was a major factor in my choice (steering away from Sony).

Plumped for the Fuji in the end.

I'd already placed a collect-at-store order for a Pentax L70 (only one store in my county had stock at what appeared to be a good discounted price) at Comet.....but failed to find good reviews compared to that for the Fuji.
So will forgoe this (Comet) reservation and take up the Fuji F72EXR at Jessops instead.....similar price too (after Fuji cashback)
