Buying with a Mastercard - Code PRICELES5 gets you £5 off too!

This is a copy of the Amazon lightning deal a few days ago for the Sony DSCHX60 Compact Digital Camera with Wi-Fi and NFC - Black ( 20.4MP, 30x Optical Zoom).
It was listed at £251.41 before this deal, plus you qualify for the Sony £30 cash back with this camera, so it is a massive saving in all and similar cameras can't touch it at this price.
The deal will only be live for a few hours, so be quick if you are keen!

Please note if you do purchase it and want a good case to go with it go for the 'Sony LCS-CSJ Soft Carry Case'
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-LCS-CSJ-Soft-Carry-Cybershot/dp/B000NWKY24/ref=pd_sim_ce_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=15Y6F52HXWAH02ESHR3Y
The one Amazon recommends with this item the 'LCSCSQ Soft Carrying Case is a bit too small.

The deal will only be live for 15 mins more likely. Thx op anyway.

Cracking deal and added it to my basket but have just read reviews that seem to suggest that my DSCHX50 is better in some ways and the upgrade not worth it (even at this steal of a price).

Still 3 and a half hours left. The initial mad rush has slowed down now, so still plenty available. Currently at 38% claimed.

ill have a buy of this, cheap if it goes missing not to cry over it while on holiday.

Got this in last week's lightning deal but am returning it. The pop up flash to me feels very fragile and as I tend to take loads of pictures on holiday at night when in pubs, feel that it would not survive long. Don't really see the need or benefit of the flash popping up, would have far preferred it to be part of the main body.

Awesome camera at this price! Don't let messages about pop up flashes deter you.

The flash popping up is to move it as far from the lens as possible, to reduce redeye. If you're using it at night then it's probably going to be annoying. I've personally never used the flash on this, the HX20, or HX9. As in, it's literally never even popped up. (I turn autoflash off right away when I get a new camera).

Oh, and this camera for £129 is ridiculously cheap. I just bought it and I still have my HX50, so I have absolutely no need.

I cannot resist the bargain-ness. You will be able to use this for 11months and then sell it for £120 no problems, with 1 month guarantee left for the new owner. Free camera for a year, basically.

I currently use a Panasonic TZ6 which is still working fine but i did want to upgrade.
Funny thing about the comment on redeye as i tried taking a couple of pics with flash on auto and they had terrible red eye showing, so the pop up certainly didn't reduce it.
Shame really as otherwise the camera felt good and i have no doubt if i was going to use it for a bit more sedate purposes it would be fine but i just felt the mechanism for the flash would not last for me.
Ir would have been a great deal for £129 otherwise.

What reviews were they? Amatuerphotographer, WhatDigital, Photography Blog and many others rate the HX60V as having better image quality and processing than the HX50 and that's at it's expensive release price. As this is cheaper than recent deals for the HX50 it seems a no-brainer to go for the HX60v rather than the HX50.

Never used the flash? Your photography must be pretty unique.

I suspect the pop-up flash may be as much to clear the lens barrel as reduce red-eye. The HX20v with it's less extreme pop-up would show a nasty lens shadow at wide-angle needing you to zoom to 1.3x (or 3x in macro) to avoid it.

Please note that this deal was for the HX60 not the HX60V. There is no GPS on this camera.

Sorry yes it's not the hx60v; but still the only difference is no GPS - moot point as the deal is over for now.
