'Was going to go for the Sony A200K from my local Jessops for £269 but they didnt have one unopened. I came home then got an email from Amazon mentioning the above. Considering folks like Jacobs are selling this for £299 - the best 'after cashback' price I can find is £239 but with this its twenty quid cheaper which is ridiculously cheap for a DSLR with image stabilisation, ten megapixel resolution and mirror autocleaning etc. The nearest with this is the Nikon D60 thats £100 more. I know Sony cant quite match the lenses of Nikon but for a beginner this is a steal. So its a case of buying it - sending off the receipt and Guarantee to Sony and getting a £30 cheque in the post. The only other deal I can see that is almost as good - is the A300K from Jessops - their branded cut down A350 with ten megapixels instead of fourteen. The shop price is £339 but with the £40 Sony return - thats £299. However if you dont want LiveView then you'll still save £80 which is nearly half its new price from Jan 2008. I cant see them having them at this price much longer and they go for more on eBay! 'Nuff said, readers!.

1. Customers purchasing a selected Sony product at participating stores between
1 November and 31 January 2009 inclusive may claim cashback (in the form
of a cheque). All purchases and mailing addresses must be within the UK.

Go there ... the offer is on for about another ten days!
Good camera. Had mine for a couple of months now, can't fault it.
Great camera, bought mine from before X-MAS...
Better get it quick if you want to claim the cashback!
Thanks been after a reasonably priced SLR for a whil and this seems to fit the bill looking at the reviews.

Heat added
£240.41 now making it £210.41 with the cashback
Just won a £100 amazon voucher, ordered :whistling:
As a heads up its expired now, price at £272.99

The A300 actually takes better pictures than the A350, cos 14mpixels just adds noise over 10.
Got my camera in the last deal in November, love it love it love it.

My first dslr and it's turned me into a right little hobbyist, here's my flickr page if you want to see the sort of pics a total newb can expect to take (though you'll still need to make the effort to learn about exposure etc):

Bought the twin lens kit (18-70 and 75-300 lenses included)from Jacobs in December.

£379.99 - £20 for ordering boxing day -£30 Sony cashback(which I have since received) Total price to me of £329.99 for the twin lens A200.

Its a brilliant camera,my first step into the DSLR market, really pleased with it.
I have just looked it up and it is still available at £244.99 with free delivery
I bought this from Amazon a few months ago for the same price, good deal, buy it.
Still £244.99. So, not expired?
Cashback not available any more only for items bought before the 31 January.
The price of these camera's won't fall much (barring offers like the cashback etc..) in the near future due to the price of the pound(£) unfortunately! I think I timed my purchase of the A200 quite nicely - still haven't seen an offer cheaper since last year!

Some of my A200 Pics
Has anyone recieved or not recieved their £30 cashback yet?
Sent my form on 30th Jan, as the four weeks had passed, I rang 01379-649499 yesterday and they confirmed safe receipt of form, and said 7-10 days for despatch.

But then coincidentally, cheque arrived this morning.

I think I sent mine a few days into Feb waiting for amazon to deliver it so if mine doesnt come in the next week I'll give them a call. thanks mate!
