Looks like a brilliant price for a car radio with Bluetooth built-in! Can't find any reviews, or even that many specs about it online, but as far as I know Sony is still a big name in in-car entertainment with a remote included.

No CD player here, just radio, aux in, Bluetooth and USB.

I'd be on this deal if I hadn't spent all my money on a car!

Didn't even notice that! Guess it shows how unimportant a CD player is for me these days. Even so hopefully it'll help some people =)

Here it is on amazon CLICK, £100 seems to be the going rate so yeah this is a gd deal. I wanted a pioneer with a nice screen but this would be so much easier as my current cd player is a sony so the stalk adapter and everything will work with this.

Really? With this particular model? Bit worrying as I'm planning to use it with my S3...

i had the S2 and a sony BT stereo, also other people with the note had the reboot issue, we all traded in for the alpine bt 133 model and have not had the problem since.

search samsung bluetooth reboot issues on google and you wont buy it :) the s3 also has it

Hmmmm that doesn't look too great, can't see any mention of the S3 having the same issues though. Might give it a go when I've got some spare cash and take it back if it doesn't work properly. Never had any issues with a stock Peugeot Bluetooth system, so might be an issue at Sony's end.

it is just sony head units, my alpines fine, some ford cars seem to have sony units as part of the built in system.

so long as your happy taking it back go buy it and dont use the mounting plate, set it up and start a playlist, if it makes it to the 1 hour mark your safe as eveyone with the issue rebooted after 30-40 mins.

trouble is the S3 is quite new so it takes time to find out the issue!

halfords were more than happy to upgrade me to the alpine.

#12
i never mentioned parrot kits ;)

You'll almost certainly need a fascia adapter if it's the original you're replacing, it depends if you currently have a single DIN or double DIN stereo installed, and which year it was made.
This website shows you the different ones available (even if if's crazy expensive) Clickety click

How odd, AFAIK there isn't a way to update the actual head unit, so does that mean older Sony Bluetooth units will never work with new Samsung phones, instead only Sony stereos released in the future will include the software needed?
#17
they can update the phone, the 3rd party roms work fine. alpine units can be updated unlike sony.
#19
I got one of these :D be careful when buying wiring adapters Halfords sent me the wrong one.

Anyone know how to make it display track info?
#20
hot :P

I had a similar bluetooth stereo and I will say its a great idea but make sure it comes with an external mic. I found myself having to talk to the stereo to be heard, involving leaning towards it.
#22
I saw the words Digital Radio and thought "bargain!", but the Q&A states : "The product is incorrectly named, its an in car radio & didital media player, its therfore not a DAB radio. Sorry for any confusion"
#23
Good that it's a shallow unit as well. Getting the wiring harness to fit around the back of some vehicles can be an issue.
#24
Ok for the price, good brand. I guess all media is going that way, MP3 of a USB, iPod or SD Card. My current car has a Pioneer head unit with all that and CD, I would of paid £100+ for it and I never use CD's. Voted hot but I wouldn't use Bluetooth myself, just load an SD / USB up and get on with it! (_;)
#25
Anyone know the power output for this?

It's 4x50w output, I had to search around a bit as well to find that out!

Bluetooth is for connecting to phones.

And streaming music from the phone.....
#29
does this have Iphone control so you can change tracks using it
#30
Have owned several SONY head units, and other than tending to have a 'funny' connector (usually come with an adapter anyway) can't say that 've ever been seriously disappointed - decent enough price though.
#31
I think to invest in a radio now it has to be DAB.
#32
Looks decent, anybody know if this will work ok with an iPhone 4? Also any thoughts as to the best place to identify the right harnesses etc for my Astra? Thanks
#33
Oh I should clarify my question above, I mean will the iPhone 4 work ok with this head unit via Bluetooth for playing music, podcasts and hands free? Not really used Bluetooth in car for years and years! Thanks
#34
Now I would of gone for this as it has the specs I need:

Short depth (2/3)
Bluetooth

But I also need iPhone control

Anyone know a model?
#35
Is an IPod touch compatible to use VIA USB port?

Perfect. This is great value for money. My Blaupunkt gave up the ghost so your post came just at the right time. The Sony knocks spots off the Blaupunkt. Sensitive FM radio, good-sounding mp3 from the USB. he Blutooth connectivity with the phone is the icing on the cake. Thanks for posting.
