This long-awaited upgraded version of Sony's official PS3 controller adds the rumble feedback to the features of the existing Sixaxis controller. RRP is £39.99 but Amazon.co.uk have it for a full £10 less and if you still have that complimentary voucher code from hotukdeals knocking around in the green bar at the top of this page, as I still do, that'll take it down to £27.49.

good find

good find. voted hot but I think I'll wait until they drop a few quid...after all still just a controller...I could buy a game for that price.
#3
good find, nice price. won't get one because the one I have that doesn't rumble works just fine.
#4
still no sign of the white ones :(
#5
Thanks, I've been wanting one of these but not wanting to spend more than £30 as I think that £40 is extortionate. Good find - heat and rep added.
#6
Glad to see Amazon taking the initiative as the rrp. is ridiculous, hopefully others will follow suit.
#7
good find! I paid £33 before they came out over here... worth the money!
#8
Thanks. I paid £28 for mine though, admittedly, via an eBay seller based in Hong Kong. Still, £2 for the extra peace of mind for most people that comes with buying from Amazon isn't much to pay, really.

Thanks for the rep too dvs, appreciate it.

Says shipping is 1 to 3 weeks
#10
This would be to add the feature they said was last gen and no-one wanted it right?
#11
Great price though, hot. And don't forget it can be delivered next day with the free 30 day Prime trial.

Great price, sold a sixaxis for a little less than this the other day...

I suggest you check your facts before you turn this into another lame console format war thread.

Does anyone know if these will work on a PC via USB (using an adapter of course) like the regular wired PS controllers?
#18
Whats the battery like on these compared to the normal controller?

Here's a long discussion (it started in 2006!) about using the Sixaxis so i'm sure the DualShock 3 makes an appearance somewhere...

Going back a while anyone got theirs from Dvd.co.uk yet? Remember the deal posted here months ago?
#22
Ah, it's so good to have rumble back. After so long playing without it, when I first used my DS3 on MGS4 it felt like the very first time. Oh, it is love.

this is what dvd.co.uk sent to me recently
We have been informed that the release date of Sony Official Dualshock 3 Six Axis Controller (PS3) (Catalog Number: DUALSHOCK3PS3), which you have on order with us, has been changed to 01 November 2008.

This change does not affect your order in any way, we are just letting you know the new release date. You do not have to do anything, we will send the item to you as soon as it is available.

Kind regards,

Customer Services
Hmmm seems a long time off yet

I got that too, but that was before the official announcement. Currently my order is 'Pending' :)

is it just me or is this a complete rip off?
i know its less than rrp but even so £30 for a controller seems mighty steep
#26
Wiimote £30, plus nunchuck makes it £45
Xbox 360 wireless controller, between £18 and £35 (god knows why such a variation), but they were previously a standard price of about £30.

Can hardly say the DualShock 3 being £30 is mighty steep, especially compared to Wii controllers.

Oh, and regarding the RRP. I think a lot of online shops will generally be ignoring the RRP and going this sort of region. Games RRP are usually £50. Ever seen a PS3 game come out on Play.com at £50? I haven't (ignoring things like the Guitar Hero or Time Crisis because of accessories).
#27
Really good price, glad I held off instead of paying £35, thanks for posting
#28
A wireless rumble pad should not cost more than £15 as that is what I paid for my pad on my old X-box 1, I will wait until they come down further, voted hot as it is far cheaper than other retailers.

They will probably drop the price more as most people who really want these have been importing them for months now and around the £30 mark as well.
#29
Best price in the UK, so a hot deal.

But I have had my (white) DS3 since December, paid £28 from yesasia.

Probably will get deals here and there, but remember that most shops held the price of the dualshock 2 at RRP for years.

Me too, I love mine :-D - can't believe far more PS3 owners didn't do the same
#32
rep added, shame there's no ceramic white because they look slick!

Also available from 365 games http://www.365games.co.uk/index.php?productID=2532

I know these have been controversial but I have ordered one from Gameplay. I was disappointed to see that earlier in the week no website in the UK had one listed. Then they suddenly all appeared so I didn't get the best deal.

I also managed to get one for £17.99 from DVD.co.uk and order is now pending. Heres hoping we get it soon as I also had that email about it being released in November.

Voted hot for this one though as it is currently the cheapest around.

TBH, white does look good but it get dirty really fast.

If my order from dvd.co.uk comes through I would sell the white one.

Ordered using HUKD voucher - voted hot!

This is ridiculous, an RRP of £40 for technology that should have come with it in the first place. Sony have no shame in charging ridiculous prices, be it TVs, PS3s and now controllers.

What's the RRP of the controllers of their competitors?

Lol, their TVs are damn good and priced fairly,
The PS3 is underpriced as they lose money on every unit!
And who cares about RRP, £30 and one is yours, could you get a Wiimote or a 360 pad for less than £30 on the day they were launched?

I boutght a twin pack from play.com for 34.99 after the dog ate the pair of mine only a fortnight ago but they seem to have got rid of that now, I certainly can't find it anwyay
