I saw this also, but this price from amazon is great and rare so it raises question marks in my eyes as to whether the ones from the other seller are legit or clones?

personally for the sake of about a pound i didnt want to risk it, order via amazon. thanks op, have some heat!

good price, what is the lowest this has been, anyone know?

I'd prefer it was free.

That price came up about 15 months ago and was due to some glitch on the Sony European web site (and I'm still kicking myself I didn't buy a couple!), so don't expect the price to get to that level any time soon. Even though I think they are outrageously priced anyway, this is the lowest I've seen them in the last 3 months at least.

i wonder if this would have so much heat if the psn wasnt back up.

i bet it wouldnt, even though its a great price.

its not kind of up. online play, trophy sync, friends list - its back up fully.
now the playstation store, thats a different matter.

Is this Official SONY PS3 Controller?

Haven't seen the Red PS button before?
6 Likes #14
It's the anti hacking button. Detects your fingerprint and is the reason the network has taken so long to come back online...
#15
Honestly i cant believe how dam much these controllers still are its crazy :(

And no i dont have a 360, i have a ps3 i just get friends to bring controllers round with them, friends without controllers can watch me play :P
#16
Good price but these things need to get cheaper quicker;) heat added

Nah it is not fully up. They were having huge problems with the amount of traffic.

PSN is NOT up at all. It's up and down like Jordan's knickers.

Regardless, this is a good price for a PS3 dualshock controller, so heat.

might be good for some who are into the official rip off sony priced hardware - but i got myself a clone from dealextreme a few months back (tho took well over 2 weeks for it to arrive) and works just as good as the 'official' sony pad.

I disagree. Have used numerous 3rd party controller since PS1 days but they always seems to be of inferior quality and break to darn quick - the analogue sticks usually go off-centre and the controller is done for. While the official ones are overpriced, they last and thats what matters.
Still got my launch day sixaxis' and the still work perfect, even after a few years of moderate usage.

Bought this just before the drop in price at £27.98. Will Amazon honour the lower price?

Best to e-mail them - especially if you haven't already received it. Just say rather than cancel the first order and re-order at this price can they just let you have it at this price. I did this recently on something and, while they made grumbly noises, they did do it.

I received it on 13th, yesterday emailed amazon and today got refund of difference :)
Thanks hotukdeals! :)

Thanks, just emailed and asked for £1.47 refund.

I noticed a few bad feedback on Amazon, i.e. fake product, your's OK though?
#26
tempting, cheap for a ps3 dual shock, i always begrudge paying £30+ for a controller when its just for having 2 player with me mates!

have some heat anyway :)

mind made up - just found a converter for £1.98 in Game which allows me to use an old PS2 controller, HAPPY DAYS

always the black one...where can i get a white or red one cheaper? :(
#28
Great find well done......
#29
Some reviews refer to the unit being Blue - is this the case as the photo shows a black one (with a red PS button).
#30
Anyone got a cheap link for the non-dualshock version?

I find it interferes with my aim when playing FPS. Also it's heavier which could shorten possible game time.
#31
Im all for saving money when i can but third party pads compared to Sonys well and truly suck .This is a great price . Heat added.

Turn the shock off?

I'd virtually guarantee that those are people who bought from Marketplace sellers - and ended up getting fakes. Buy it direct from Amazon and you won't go wrong - and "yes" it is worth a couple of extra quid to be sure!

Good price. Cheers OP.

I got one of those converters a few months ago and was elated as you - until I got it home and found that the analogue sticks don't work, just the digital controls (D-pad and buttons) :(
#36
Good price for the best darn joypad around and yeah third party ones are just terrible.

And PSN is up. My PS3's been logged into it continuously since Sunday evening and still is. Oh how I have missed Uncharted 2 multiplayer (the only action game I actually enjoy online) :D The store will be up within the week or so and with a backlog of games that were supposed to be released in the past few weeks plus some freebie stuff.
