was showing 48 in stock, I ordered 2 and still showing 48. I suspect it'll all turn out to be a waste of time. Good deal if it all works!

anyone ordered from thse b4??

they are a really well known company, no need to worry. my school used to fully kitted out with their machines 10years ago

hands up everyone with an ntsc compatible tv...

Good deal on the surface but reading here for some interesting info

I think the reason most people are having problems is that whilst the dvd is multi-region it outputs NTSC & some television can't handle it. My old dvd player and a lot of other dvd players convert NTSC to pal, therefore the tv can display it correctly. On my television it would only work via scart 1 as scart 2 would not cope with ntsc (as is the case on some televisions). So if you want this dvd player I recommend you check your Tv can handle NTSC. I think this is the reason why their are mixed reports as to multi-region working & why their older dvd players may have been ok.

NTSC is only required for Region 1 playback...no?
#11
Most modern TV's are NTSC compatible.

I was just reading that, this DVD player is 4 years old, a good built machine well worth £11 for those that don't want DivX and that have an NTSC capable tv.

It is better actually that it does pump out pure NTSC signals rather than try and do a conversion from NTSC to PAL, at least then if your tv is capable of NTSC you are getting a true frame rate.

Hot deal for the price for those that are interested even if it is an older machine and basic in function.

Looks like there will be a refurbished Sony DVD player price war on eBay !

I don't think they're refurbed. On Amazon, they had the same description of muti region capability. Also, it nwould say if they where refurbed, now wouldn't it? Trade descriptions and all that.

Can somone cancel their order, so I can get one? Hehe

FFS when will anyone learn that buying stuff from here to sell on ebay isn't necessarily a good idea?

I have two Sony DVD players and I hate them.. Why the hell they have to take sooo long to open the cd draw is beyond me!

I would say, about the time people on here stop falling for the old 'I bought 1,000,000 to resell on ebay' li(n)e :giggle: ;-)

I received this email earlier:

Dear Mr. Martin,

Due to unprecedented demand for the Sony DVD player, we are unable to supply all of the customers who placed orders with us. Our stock availability calculation system was not able to keep up with the rate of incoming online orders.

Unfortunately, therefore, we have had to decline your order and have arranged to credit your payment.

On behalf of RM, I would like to apologise for the inconvenience that this may have caused to you

Regards
