hi, been to the O2 phone shop today to buy this phone for my son and it's turned out to be a real bargin.
It was marked up in the shop for £79.99
On the sales reciept it says £69.99 then
£20.00 off for a promotion there doing
£20.00 off for tradeing an old phone in (any old phone and charger),
So it came to a grand total of £29.99
I hope this helps someone, my son will be really pleased.xxxx

o2 website says reduced from £79.99 to £69.99 , no mention of a £20 trade in.

If there is a £20 trade in on an old phone off the £69.99 price then thats one hell of a bragin !! ;-)

Can anyone confirm the £20 in store reduction by trading in an old phone ? :?
#5
I know someone who got a £20.00 reduction in store as they already had a PAYT phone with them, the shop assistant just checked their usual spend and offered the reduction straight away....like an upgrade for PAYT...I think he even gave some free top up...although I maybe mistaken about that

voted hot, this is a great phone

I recently bought one in Sep for my son for £109 - £30 discount voucher, from the catalogue, gave it to him for his birthday, he is chuffed to bits, the photo is amazing for a 2mp, I used this review site to choose it. It came with a 512mb memory stick.

the £20.00 reduction is on selected phones, including this one, it's not advertised yet but the man in the shop told us about it today he also told us about the £20.00 trade in too. We bought ours from the Bridlington (east yorkshire)store, but we've phoned others to double check it's right. If in doubt give them a call.xxxx

Anything for k800i? Are they on the same deal?
#12
K800i is £59 @ Marshall Ward. I saw the thread quite late and when I tried the code it wasn't accepted but I tried again a few days ago and it went through! It was delivered yesterday.

You'd need to take it to a shop but they should be able to do it for around £10 I think.

Definitely a great deal. I have one of these myself, with a 4GB card in it so it doubles up nicely as an mp3 player :)

Its a nice phone - i have one and i was a complete nokia fan :)
#16
Thanks, I'll check out my o2 shop tomorrow
#17
alixxx, did you have to buy a £10 topup with the phone? Also was it available in black or white?
#18
This is a superb phone and for around £50 (without the trade-in) is a real bargain. Not sure it can be unlocked easily if CID50 (old CID49 is pretty easy).
#19
Superb deal. I paid £70 from phones4u in Glasgow last week for 1.

Re the unlocking of the phone. You could either, as someone suggested, take it to a shop that unlocks mobiles. It will cost about £10.

Alternatively (and this is what I done), you should phone the servce provider (mine was Virgin) and simply ask them for the unlock code. With Virgin, they give you it free as long as you have spent £30 on top-ups. As I had already paid a £10 top-up when I bought the phone, it seemed to be a better deal to buy the £20 credit from Virgin and have the phone unlocked free, than pay a tenner to get it unlocked.
#20
these are def. locked then? and is there a code or anything to quote when i go in or do i just ask for one and they will honour this discounted price??

cheers, dan
#21
p.s.. anyone got a list of any of the other phones they have got on discount? or better still a link to the offer???
#22
is the nokia 6300 on this? I wouldnt mind getting it for 39.99...
#23

#24

#25

Looking at what releaseyourself posted it would seem it is store specific too :(
#28
I didn't have to buy the phone credit it was optional, it came in both white and black. It is locked to O2 but you can get it unlocked.xx
#29
I am opposite 02 store now and checked its not £29.99!

I know people don't trust littlewoods or anything associated with them - and it's understandable..... however I took delivery of a W810i from marshall ward (linked to littlewoods i think), using a £23.50 first time buyer voucher (found elsewhere on this forum), and it cost me £49. They charged £69 + £3.50 delivery to my card and then refunded the £23.50. Just checked my card - and I've definately only been charged the £49.

I've just ordered another one, using my dads card and address - if it works once it'll work again.

Anyhoo... someone else may find this useful.

the issue with littlewoods is if the code wasnt just assigned to everyone, or was sent to say one person and they posted it here. They will track you down and remove the saving in a few months time I believe.

its over on money saving expert forums, and has been discussed here as well. I actually ordered from marshal ward using that code the other day but what with o2s sudden price reductions im sending it back.
#34
I understand the risk (read about it on the bbc news website a couple of weeks ago), but at £49 for a W810i it's worth taking - in my mind anyway.

If they want the £23.50 back in a couple of months time, then so be it. The phone will have cost me the going rate £70 ish, and i'll never order from them again.

If I get away with it, then £49 for a W810i is a bargain.

Thanks for the headsup though !!

Blimey, it's all a bit of an eye opener! I'm new to this site and I assumed all codes listed would be kosher for anyone to use.

I ordered one I they will not be getting nowt back of me in a few months. Give the old it was sent to me in an email etc etc long deleted and let the credit card company sort it out. At the price had to take a chance, rofl track you down like some hunted animal :-)

does that actually work then?
#38
Does with my credit card, had the same thing happen with another shop and they tried to take a £20 voucher back later after purchase I told them I recieved it in email, then after purchase deleted it as you do and my credit card company charged back the £20 as they said at point of sale we had a contract and that was the price and it could not be altered after payment and my recipt of the goods. They also offered to chargeback the lot and told me to give them 30 days to collect it if that passes keep it as it would be mine. But I just went for the £20. I cant see it being a problem with this particular code as its an introductory / new customer only code. But we'll see, like I said chargebacks are the key to these problems.

Anyhoots phoning my local o2 shop now and seeing what I can score, that would be 2 pressys done if successful \o/

Going to my o2 shop later and i'll try this

Phoned Cardiff had no joy deof not offering anything at all no £20 off no trading, but you cna have a bluetooth head set total £69.99, may try newport after. They seem so busy, no time to sort stuff out on phones :-)

Also Newport got back to me, no offers there either £69 only.
