Looks pretty hot to me, and none of the horrible reviews like the C905 suffers from. My Sony Ericsson is a bit ancient, though well-loved (K810i, also bought thanks to HUKD!). I take it will be locked to 3, if I pick the O2 option will I be able to put my Orange SIM in?

I've had my mobile number for eons and don't want to change. Also, does this take 8GB M2 cards?

It does seem like a good phone i agree
it will take up to 16gb m2 memory cards

it won't take your orange sim unless you unlock the phone. but unlocking is easy enough to do.

Oh dear.. http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/sony-ericsson-c903.htm

When we first reviewed the phone in June 2009 we wrote that it felt flimsy and we doubted that it would prove to very durable. A few months on and our user reviews confirm that indeed the C903 is about as durable as a cube of sugar in a hot cup of tea. Frankly, we're fed up with Sony Ericsson at the moment. They keep churning out run of the mill handsets, or handsets that look great on paper and then self-destruct as soon as you take them out of the box. The C903 has turned out to be one of the self-destructing kinds. As well as this, the user guide is rubbish and the battery life poor, and we think that you deserve something better than this. Thumbs down for the C903!

I must admit I'm very wary of the more recent SE phones at the moment too (Re C905, Satio in particular). Still a good deal if you want to take the gamble. (Perhaps rectified now with newer software, does anyone know?).

Trusted Reviews give it a glowing review and in general it seems pretty positive elsewhere. http://www.trustedreviews.com/mobile-phones/review/2009/07/10/Sony-Ericsson-Cyber-shot-C903/p1

Another: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/mobile-phones/sony-ericsson-c903-621344/review?artc_pg=1

"The C903 slots neatly into the Cyber-shot line-up between the higher-end 8-megapixel C905 sliderphone and the C902 5-megapixel candybar model. Its features line-up sits similarly between the two; it lacks the larger megapixel count and Wi-Fi of the C905 but offers extra A-GPS capability that the C902 doesn't have."

Ahhh yes i found that review . That website i think is a very reliable site however i scrolled down through that website and looked at personal peoples reviews. alot where bad i but that is enebitable. although quite a few people say it is a brilliant phone. and also all the problems would be covered bby the warranty (which i believe is 2 years long!)

Yeh, I tend to head to mobile-phones-uk.org whenever I'm looking for a review. A lot of the really stinking comments seemed to be tied in with the 3 network, though I don't know anyone who's on 3.

SE has a 2 year warranty for all phones which is great. I wouldn't want to mess with flash software, which would muck up the warranty, so I'd go with the O2 for bunging in my Orange SIM. (Just need to confirm that option works). Undecided!

I'm thinking this because the K810 I got years ago was for O2, but it turned out it was actually SIM-free.

Ok, well i'm going for the 3 option personaly
But i can see where you are coming from but i strongly advise not to!
1) if you chose the o2 option that is £20 more (although still fairly cheap for the phone)
2) if you unlock it and put in your orange i don't see why you want to pick the o2 one if your switching anyway.
and 3)you are wasting £10 because you have to go for £10 top up anyway

All I need is a 16GB M2 card!

o2 phones used to come unlocked but I'm pretty sure they're all locked to the o2 network now (unless the shop is selling them unlocked/unbranded)

You can take your number with you when changing networks. You'll find the details on your network's website, but you basically just call them for a PAC code then give it to the network you want to join. Simples!

I want a new phone.

Cheapest I can find a 16GB M2 so far: http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/6738124/SanDisk-M2-16GB-Card/Product.html £45.99

I like to use my mobile as a walkman.

(No way will I ever buy a memory card from Amazon Marketplace again!).

Edit: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Memory-Stick-Micro---M2/SanDisk/SanDisk-16GB-Memory-Stick-Micro---M2 Even cheaper 16GB M2 here, when it comes back in stock; £30.99.

I posted on the newer thread. No, it wasn't unlocked, sadly.

As far as I can tell, Aerix is no good for unlocking the C903. Tried A2Uploader too, but from what I'm reading you have to cough up £s to unlock CID 0053 phones, which the C903 is. If that's the case Aerix should change their list of compatible phones!

Hoping someone can enlighten me with more ideas!
